  • Jabra Stone is one unique Bluetooth headset

There has been much hype about the Jabra Stone. Part of it is its unique design as the headset fits in the charger to make a seemingly seamless smooth stone. It also has a touch sensitive shell for its controls rather than the traditional buttons.

It has a talk time of 2 hours, plus a dock that is good for three extra charges. The standby time is reportedly 12 days. The Jabra Stone will hit AT&T stores on November 8th, with a price of $130.

Writing this piece left me downright torn. It’s easy to be enraged at people selling a product so simple anyone can build their own at home.

However, you are restrained in this urge by the knowledge that the product indeed works as advertised as well as provides a significant service, if only to a narrow range of people.  Introducing the bluDangle Headset Lanyard, a device which is, essentially, intended to keep your Bluetooth headgear from falling irretrievably off.

You’ll probably recognize TAG Heuer as the makers of some popular (and expensive) luxury watches. Well, the Swiss company has recently strayed from their roots introducing the above pictured Bluetooth headset.

As you can see, the actual headset will ship with a USB docking station that bears resemblance to a fat USB thumb drive. Oh yeah, you can save 4GB of data on that fatty while charging your headset, now that’s innovation! Additionally, the headset itself will allow for 4 hours of talktime on a single charge.

There’s no word on pricing or availability but considering the brand, don’t expect this to be cheap.

    LG HBM-530 Headset

Bluetooth headsets are abundant at the CES and while most people are looking for the traditional and sophisticated design, the LG HBM-530 seems to be targeting the females instead.

Shaped and designed like a Swarovski crystal-clad, this headset can pass for a piece of jewelry. It can also be a great fit for women who wear various accessories and jewelries. If ladies should get this device, people may not even notice a Bluetooth headset clinging around their wardrobe.

It features an e-Clip ergonomic earbud and a carrying cradle, but really, the only reason to get this is because it looks like a piece of costume jewelry.

    Samsung WEP850 Bluetooth Headset

When you look at bluetooth headsets, it would be Sony Ericsson that seems to be the only mobile phone that has such a device. But now, Samsung has unveiled its own version and it even won the Design and Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

While other mobile phone manufacturers have been introducing their share of headsets, this Samsung WEP850 Bluetooth headset is quite a catch with its wonderful design.

The earloop just doesn’t look the same as other headsets. The Crystal earhook really sticks out, especially since it has that extra piece on the hook. The pearl coated finish also places the Samsung WEP850 a step ahead of the competition.

  • While most other noise-canceling headsets try reducing audio frequency to provide a clearer call quality, Jabra’s BT530 Bluetooth headset has taken a page out of noise-canceling headphones’ book to deliver a much better experience compared to the others. It’s Noise Blackout technology features two microphones, one to capture ambient noises to be filtered out and another to capture the user’s voice. Furthermore, Audio Shock Protection and advanced DSP technology monitor the incoming audio volume and balances sound to give a noiseless experience to both the parties in a call. The BT530 can also be connected to PCs and Bluetooth-capable deskphones or softphones, opening up a world of usage in the workplace or at home. The headset can provide up to 5.5 hours of talktime on a single charge with 250 hours of standy time on a single charge, which can be done via a microUSB charger.

The Jabra BT530 will retail for a mere $99.99 when it becomes available in September in stores across the country.

LG Decoy showcased at 2008 SIG

The oddly named LG Decoy has made appearance again, this time at the Special Interest Group (SIG) Holiday Gift Guide 2008 Event being held at the Tavern on the Green in New York City to show off its concealment capabilities involving a Bluetooth headset. Other than the removable Bluetooth earpiece, this dual-band CDMA slider packs a 240×320px QVGA display, a passable 2.0 megapixel camera, video/mp3 player, and a microSD slot to care of your storage needs. Not much in there, but at $179 on a two-year plan, some might call it a steal. Look for the VX8610 on Verizon this 16th.

BlueAnt Wireless is definitely peddling a lot of it wares at CES, be it portable speakers, or this new first-of-its-kind BlueAnt V1 Bluetooth headset. The BlueAnt V1 is the world’s first completely voice-controlled headset. Yes, I mean control with voice commands like “pair headset,” “accept call,” “volume up,” and so on. And how cool would it be if it responds back to you? Yes, it does that too.

This surprisingly tiny 41×17.5×11.2 mm headset uses the Sensory’s BlueGenie Voice Interface, the first time this highly advanced voice recognition tech is ever integrated into a Bluetooth headset. The model also comes with dual microphones to allow Voice Isolation Technology, separating the user voice signal from other sounds around. The Voice Recognition and Voice Synthesis technologies enable the device to recognize commands and reply back to the user.

The V1 works with Bluetooth 2.1 and its multi-point technology allows connecting two cell phones at the same time. It can give up to 6 hours of talktime or 200 hours of standby and can be charged using its multifunction car and desk charger or via USB.

As for buttons, there’s only one to speak of with the BlueAnt logo on it.
