When it comes to searching for the right type of business or industry, the only reliable thing you can do is how they are rated. It is something similar to social bookmarking but focused on the business industry. And thanks to Superpages, a new app that allows users to give them random business a “Thumbs Up” or “Thumbs Down” can really be a big help.
The new application is the Superpages Mobile BlackBerry Storm which allows users to rank and provide reviews for specific businesses. With over 17 million U.S. based businesses, this is certainly a great app you can count on to whittle down your selection.
Search by keyword or choose popular categories — like automotive, entertainment, restaurants, services and stores — and view as much or as little information as you like. Use the scroll bar at the top of the search results to minimize or expand business information. Go from business name and number to full business address and services to viewing search results on a map.
The Superpages.com BlackBerry Storm application is free and available in the BlackBerry Store. A version for the BlackBerry Bold and the BlackBerry Pearl will be coming to the BlackBerry Store soon.

Photobucket is familiar to us as an online host for standalone photos and as a video sharing site. The problem is, to be able to upload such files, PC access via the Internet is needed. However today, a new interface that allows T-Mobile phone owners to upload their photos has been announced.
Photobucket announced the availability of an innovative mobile photo service exclusively for T-Mobile that enables users to send photos directly from mobile handsets to several destinations: a Photobucket album, a PC hard drive, or an email address.
To utilize the application, T-Mobile subscribers can download the application for a free 21-day trial to select handsets, including Blackberry Curve, Blackberry Pearl and three Windows Mobile devices. T-Mobile subscribers that do not currently have a Photobucket account can create one for free at http://photobucket.com, and then link their T-Mobile phone to their Photobucket online photo album via the new service.
Once the mobile uploader software has been downloaded, the application allows users to choose where photos taken from their mobile phones should be automatically uploaded to: a Photobucket album, their PC’s hard drive or directly to an email address.
The Photobucket Mobile Uploader for T-Mobile is available initially on five select handsets in both free and premium versions. Following the 21-day trial, users can continue using the free version or purchase the full software for a special holiday one-time purchase price of $19.99.
The expired trial version allows users to upload only to Photobucket, while the premium version gives users access to Photobucket, as well as the ability to send photos to their home PC or to any email address.

With growing competition in the business sector from handsets such as Apple’s iPhone it would only make sense that RIM would then extend it’s phones elsewhere, which exactly what it is doing with the new Pearl 8220.
We had previously seen leaked imagery of the above phone but didn’t actually here much from RIM about it, regarding the US. We now know the phone’s first US carrier will be T-Mobile.
Some of the phone’s features include a Sure-type keyboard, a flip open screen (a first for RIM), a 2MP camera, and built in Wi-Fi. The 8220 won’t, however, be compaitble with the 3G network like it’s older brother, the Bold, but instead on the much slower EDGE networks.
There is no word on when we will see this phone or for how much but we will keep you posted.

Are you waiting for some colored BlackBerries to arrive from your favorite Canadian carrier? Well Bell Mobility is going to add new colors to their BlackBerry Pearl and Curve.
The BlackBerry Pearl is supposed to arrive in White and Titanium, while the BlackBerry Curve 8330 in red. In case you want to buy either one of those three new colored berries, you have to wait a few more days until August 8th when they will be available. I’d advise against that though. After all the Bold and Thunder are around the corner.

Wirefly, an online leader in one-stop comparison shopping for cell phones and wireless phone plans, has just released the result on their survey for the Top Ten Hottest Cell Phones for summer travelers. These are probably based on the phones used by tourists and travelers throughout summer.
The handsets that top the list are the BlackBerry Curve, Palm Centro and BlackBerry Pearl. This could be due to its functionality and connectivity options that are indeed far superior than the other phones in this category.
According to Wirefly, the Top 10 hottest cell phones for travel this summer are:
1. BlackBerry Curve 8310 –AT&T
2. Palm Centro – Sprint
3. LG Vu CU920 – AT&T
4. T-Mobile Dash –T-Mobile
5. BlackBerry Pearl 8120 – T-Mobile
6. Motorola i880 – Nextel
7. LG Rumor – Sprint
8. Motorola v3m RAZR – Verizon Wireless
9. LG Voyager VX10000 – Verizon Wireless
10. LG Scoop – Alltel
