It was recently made known today that the highly sought after BlackBerry Bold 9700 will officially be coming to T-Mobile Germany this November.

If you haven’t been following this device, you may know it as the BlackBerry Bold 2 or perhaps the BlackBerry Onyx but either or, it features HSDPA, a 3.2MP camera, 480×360 display, WiFi and a BlackBerry Curve form factor.

A few months ago we got our first glimpse of the white BlackBerry Bold but had no idea when we would be able to buy it or for what carrier. Well, it seems like AT&T will be the carrier getting the stylish device on October 18th.

Exactly how much will we be able to buy this for? Most likely right around the black Bold’s $199 price point.

Rumors have recently surfaced that give us a hint as to when that highly sought after BlackBerry Bold 9700 will be made available for purchase.

Apparently, the above mentioned handset will be hitting T-Mobile on November 11th but until RIM or T-Mobile make an official announcement we will have to mark this one off as a rumor.

Anyone else as anxious for this phone as we are?

Have you ever thought about how much radiation you are pumping into your body talking on your cell phone all the time? Neither did I until i saw EWG.org’s handset ranking based on radiation output.

As you can see above, phones that output immense amounts of radiation but are still popular include the Blackberry Curve 8330, the T-Mobile myTouch 3G and, sadly, the Blackberry Bold 9000.

And for those of you out there with an iPhone, yes, it outputs a lot of radiaton.

Check out the full list of handsets here.

  • Once again AT&T does as it pleases when it comes to handling its own business. We’ve seen some strange decisions in the past and now we have one more such decision for you. It looks like the carrier doesn’t feel ready to launch that BlackBerry Bold software upgrade. And after all this waiting it looks like a “software issue affecting the interaction between the device and network enhancements being deployed.” Aha! Right! That surely sounds like a serious problem which needs to be addressed immediately. So anyway, what phone are you going to choose to replace your BlackBerry Bold?

One of the key features the iPhone has (even if you under appreciate it) is visual voicemail. Several other handset manufacturers included the feature with their phone but RIM generally left the BlackBerry Bold in the dark.

Luckily, the feature has recently gone live although the OS update that is supposed to bring the feature, doesn’t go live until Tusday.

BGR says that if you notice a visual voice mail icon on your BlackBerry Bold, all you have to do is call AT&T and ask them to active it. Sounds easy enough, right?

  • What will the Pre cost is something lots of people ask these days. While we don’t have the exact answer to that question, we can easily assume it’s going to cost less than the iPhone or even the BlackBerry Bold. From what we hear the manufacturing costs for the Pre are lower than for the iPhone or the Bold. iSuppli states that the total manufacturing cost of a Palm Pre is just around $138. That’s the hardware cost only, without all the research and development costs. From the same point of view the iPhone costs $174 and the Bold $169.

According to iSuppli Sprint will pay $300 for the Palm Pre and Sprint’s customers will pay around $200 for the device with a $100 rebate on a new contract.

    PocketMeeting for BlackBerry Bold

    PocketMeeting

    PocketMeeting

Warb, a web design and technology studio, presented a new breed of online meeting software called PocketMeeing, which includes the ability to view a presentation from your BlackBerry Bold. Now with PocketMeeting you can share your computer screen with anybody. “We quickly dispelled the belief that this is a crowded space. Within our first two days of release, we’ve beat expectations for an entire month of sales,” Isaac Squires, Director, said. “There is still a need for simple software that works. We’ve executed on that concept, with a bit of flavor in the mobile department. Many of our customers already have some degree of conferencing support built into their mobile phones, however if they’re looking for more, then GeniusRoom is an ideal upgrade for those familiar with PocketMeeting.”

PocketMeeting offers a trial screen sharing session with a request from their service department through info@pocketmeeting.com. The service is $5 per use, and will last for 24 hours.

  • We were all unpleasantly surprised to see Rogers announce an expensive Bold. The initial price was $399.99 with a 3-year contract. That’s way beyond too expensive.

But forget all that you lucky Canadians! Rogers has realized it had to cut down the price and now the Bold is available for $199.99 and it comes with a $50 gift card. The cheaper price however will only last for about a month, until November 27th, so in case you want one, go grab yours today.

We’ve told you this yesterday and now we can confirm it to some extent. The Bold has appeared on Best Buy’s site so that’s where you need to be camping out in case you want it. The full price is $679.99 without a contract while a two-year agreement will get you a $299.99 Bold. The stores will make this Berry available to you on the 29th the soonest so don’t go camping quite yet. In case you manage to get one, give us a hint of how it all worked out for you. We’re also curios is Bold’s performance in AT&T’s network. Tell us more once you had a chance to play with it!

People say the BlackBerry Bold from AT&T is right around the corner. In fact they say this Holy Grail of recent phones is being schedule for sale from various Best Buy locations tomorrow. It seems that the Bold has been shipped to Best Buy and demo sets are out on the floor for some hot demo action.

The Bolds are priced at $349 with a two-year agreement at Best Buy. The full retail price is $679.99. We’ll see tomorrow if everything proves to be right or not.

The BlackBerry Bold has received Technical Acceptance from AT&T. That means that AT&T should be ready to sell the Bold as soon as possible. As soon as possible means about two weeks from getting the acceptance which is usual procedure. That means a Bold release could arrive on November 4th. Rumors say the date is accurate, although we did announce you before that October 27th was supposed the Bold day. The rumored price for now is $300. With a contract I would suppose. We’ll tell you more when the time is right.

Boy does AT&T know how to promote its devices. Although the BlackBerry Bold is not ready to be launched yet, the carrier has went ahead and hosted its official release party as scheduled. I guess it must have been disappointing for the crowd present in New York to realize they were not going to leave the party with a new Bold in their hands.

AT&T wants to release the Bold sometime in November but I don’t think that’s going to be as successful at that time. After all, the Storm is coming, and when it’s going to hit, it will impress lots of people.

According to a recent post made at a site dedicated to BlackBerry News, the future owners of a Bold cellphone will receive a freebie from AT&T.

That free feature is the AT&T mobile TV service, also known as CV - Cellular Video. As long as the owners of a BlackBerry Bold are subscribed to a data plan, the TV will be for free.

What TV stations are available at CV? Just to name a few: ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Mobile, WWE, VH1 Mobile, Nickelodeon, NBC Mobile, HBO Mobile, Comedy Central Mobile, and The Weather Channel Mobile.

Apparently, Orange UK has temporarily stopped selling Research in Motion’s much anticipated Blackberry Bold. The cause? Unspecified 3-G related problems on the handset. This happened last Friday, but will hopefully resume sales when a software fix becomes available.

A statement from Orange stated that: “Orange UK is committed to providing the BlackBerry Bold to its customers in the U.K.; however, Orange UK and (BlackBerry manufacturer) RIM are currently working on providing a maintenance release of software to address some reported 3G-related concerns.”

The said 3G problem has been limited to UK Orange customers only so its possible that this is an isolated incident. Its also comforting to know that Orange UK and RIM are taking customer’s concern seriously and felt that they need to address this issue first before selling more handsets. Even more surprising is that Orange UK and RIM apologized to customers for any inconvenience and they expect to provide a software maintenance release soon. This is surprisingly a better response to, say Apple, with its iPhone 3G issues.

We have some good news and some bad news for all Americans that plan to get a BlackBerry Bold. The bad news is that AT&T is delaying again the official launch. The good news is that you can get it from Canada, Chile and various countries from Europe.

Mike Lazaridis, who is only RIM’s CEO, said that AT&T is testing the Bold to ensure that it’s sub-par 3G network can support it. And it looks like Apple’s phone is to blame:

There’s great scrutiny, as you might know, on that network and a certain device. So I guess everyone wants to be sure on every last test.

AT&T said the Bold is coming this year. Whatever that means. My guess is that they haven’t even turn the Bold on yet.

We are not sure what RIM is playing at here. The company had the ability to deliver the BlackBerry Bold already in Chile, but it sure is taking its time in getting its latest smartphone out here in the States. If that’s the situation here in the good ole’ USA, things definitely aren’t looking better for other countries too. The latest rumor brings us the news of a Bold launch in Japan, not this year apparently, but in the first quarter of 2009, a hell of a long time for something that has been in the news for too long already. NTT DoCoMo will be the privileged carrier to provide the device in the island country at an unknown price. We don’t think the Japanese are tech-starved in anyway, but wouldn’t it be better for RIM and for all of us to get the device out already, before we all move on and get hooked on to something better?

A quick hop over to Orange UK’s website reveals that the latest devil from RIM is already out of stock, the same situation as the high-priced New York sellout. Vodafone UK looks to create the same kind of magic with the BlackBerry Bold, which is available starting now, and you don’t have to pay the $1300 premium price as the carrier is offering this HSDPA, WiFi, and GPS-laden smartphone for free on a £35pm two-year contract with goodies like unlimited texting, 500MB data transfer, and 600 minutes of talktime. A sweet deal indeed for a device that has a multimedia player, 1GB of internal memory with microSD expansion, a full QWERTY keypad, and a half-VGA 480×320 display. The 2-megapixel cam seems to be the only qualm, but then if you wanted imaging power, you would be thinking of the Innov8, wouldn’t ya?

We’re waiting for the Bold to finally hit the US market and it seems it’s playing hard to get. According to recent rumors, unconfirmed but pretty strong, the BlackBerry Bold is going to arrive from AT&T on October 2nd. Funny how in the mean time it’s available in Chile< as if Chile would be the home of RIM.

Hopefully this RIM device will arrive before Verizon brings the Thunder. I imagine most people would choose the Thunder/Storm over the Bold? Or is it just me?

After much speculation, it has finally been made official that the Blackberry Bold will be hitting Rogers come August 21st.

While this doesn’t really effect us here in the States, if rumors are to be believed the phone will be also be hitting other North American carriers by the end of the week. AT&T anyone?

In terms of pricing, co-CEO over at RIM, Jim Balsille lets us know that with a 2 year contract you can expect to pay inbetween $300 and $400 for the latest addition to the Blackberry line. Sign me up.
