Now that Microsoft has updated their mobile version of Bing, it would appear that Verizon is pushing this version of Bing onto the BlackBerry Storm.
Unfortunately, a recent report complained that this BlackBerry version of Bing was “slow and unresponsive”. This is one of several apps being “pushed” onto the Storm which includes YouTube, VZW Tones, V Cast Video, and a Verizon version of Slacker Radio. Perhaps BlackBerry users can learn to warm up to Bing.

Today Microsoft has updated the mobile version of their search engine also known as Bing. The new features can be divided into 3 points:
- Bing mobile now supports touch phones like the HTC Imagio, iPhone, and Samsung Omnia. Fow now, the owners of these cellphones will be able to have access to a customized version of Bing, and in the upcoming months they’ll add more touch phones to the support list;
- a new NFL score search tool - just type the name of a player or team and get up to date stats;
- a flight status tool - just type flight number and airline to receive the latest info;

Today was a good day for Bing because the Microsoft search engine and Samsung have reached a deal, in which the Windows Mobile 6.5 will be featured on the Intrepid phone, via the voice-powered search.
In other words, users can simply press the “TellMe” button and speak whatever they want to search. Thanks to the technology used by Bing, your words are translated and the results are displayed on the device. At this time we don’t know if this application will be used in other devices besides Intrepid, but we certainly hope so because it is much easier to press a button and talk, than to press 20 keys to have the same result.

What nobody believed possible anymore seems to have happened. Microsoft and Yahoo have signed a search partnership today. That means Microsoft has gotten a 10-year license to use Yahoo’s search technologies and integrate Yahoo in its own search engine, Bing. And Yahoo will get to play with advertising for both parties involved since it will be the “exclusive worldwide relationship sales force for both companies’ premium search advertisers”. We’ll have to wait and see what this means for the mobile business since the deal is subject to regulatory review which will be completed by early 2010. What do you think Google has to say about this Yahoo and Microsoft affair?

Have you seen the last Palm Pre ad? Well just play the video above. “Go With The Flow” is the name of this simple ad campaign and it will not surprise you with anything. The Pre is a very dependable device but the ad doesn’t really let you see all that magic. Would you buy the Pre after viewing just that single ad? That’s of course assuming that you haven’t heard about the phone so far! The commercial is following that first Palm Pre ad, entitled “Flow”, which was more alive and definitely meant to make an impression. “Go With The Flow” will not be the kind of commercial you talk about with your friends. Nothing really happens in it.
On a different note, it looks like Palm wants to indirectly promote Microsoft’s new search engine, Bing. Is that the purpose of this ad? Will Google or Apple react in any way?

Microsoft has been known for some colorful TV advertisements, especially those garnered towards Vista, but I think they are really onto something with the above Bing ad.
Recently released to, obviously, market their revamped and re-engineered search engine, Bing’s first TV ad focuses on taking all of the fuss and confusion (I didn’t know there way any?) out of using an online search engine.
They are obviously targeting Google with their whole “no more search overload” slogan so let’s see how this ad has an impact on which search engine users decide to use.

It was only a few days ago that Microsoft launched their Google competitor, Bing, and now already they are diving headfirst into the mobile game.
Microsoft recently announced that they have launched Bing’s mobile version at m.bing.com. Now, I have to say, while it’s no Google, Bing’s mobile page loads very fast and looks just as nice using the iPhone’s web browser.
There’s no telling now if Bing will stand a chance against Google but even in the early stages Microsoft is doing a good job so we’ll have to see how this one unfolds.

Remember Microsoft’s answer to Google entitled Bing that we told you about last week? You know the one they invested over $80 million into? Yeah, that one.
Microsoft has recently released a press statement detailing the search engine’s launch which you can check out over at www.bing.com.
The verdict? Well, it certainly looks a bit different than Google but functions virtually the same way. Maybe it will catch on, but probably not.

Microsoft has been craving for a piece of the search business for quite a while now. It tried and failed a number of times to purchase Yahoo and since that deal never took off Microsoft decided to create its own search engine from scratch. That’s how Bing came to life.
Microsoft’s Bing will fight against Google for search dominance. Microsoft will invest an impressive $80 million in advertising the new search engine. Will Microsoft succeed? Will we bing stuff instead of simply googling it? Will Apple even show up in Bing searches?
