The Acer Aspire AS5735-4624 is now being sold at BestBuy for a fair price - $400 after the savings. While the laptop has an average customer rating of 3.8 out of 5 on the Acer website, we must admit the price is good when looking at the technical details.
The low-cost laptop weights 2,6Kg and uses Windows Vista Home Premium as the operative system. It has all the goodies that a “normal” computer user needs, like WiFi + Ethernet LAN + 5-in-1 media card reader, and surprisingly it also has a vintage 56k modem, which I doubt anyone will ever use. With a screen size of 15.6-inches, this Aspire has a 16:9 aspect ratio and an uncommon 1366×768pixels resolution.
The engine of the Aspire AS5735-4624 is obviously an Intel, more exactly a Pentium T3200 dual core processor that runs at 2GHz.

For those of you wandering if Napster still exists Best Buy has the perfect answer. Best Buy acquired Napster for $121 million. What do you think about that Metallica?
Best Buy is going to pay $67 in cash while the rest will be paid by Q4 of this year. Why 67 mil in cash?
Moving on then, Best Buy is going to get Napster’s 700,000 digital entertainment subscribers which is not to bad. Best Buy’s president Brian Dunn said he wants to use “Napster’s capabilities and digital subscriber base to reach new customers with an enhanced experience for exploring and selecting music and other digital entertainment products over an increasing array of devices.” OK then, you go ahead and you have your fun with Napster! Beware though, Metallica might be watching!

If you happened to walk by a Best Buy store today and saw a line of people waiting for something but didn’t bother to check out what it was well then I’ll tell you. It was the iPhone 3G, which starting yesterday, is available from Best Buy too.
Let’s explore this a little bit. Best Buy is advertising the iPhone 3G with “regular price” and “instant savings” showing. Is this all a lie?
Well Best Buy has posters which will show you an iPhone 3G 8GB which costs only $199 after instant savings while the regular price is $599.99. The 16GB version will cost $299 after instant savings while the regular price is $799.99. In order to get the cheaper price you’d have to activate the phone. Guess who’s the carrier then?
I wonder if you can get any iPhone version for the regular price. That would make it an unlocked iPhone, wouldn’t it? If that’s not an option then why buy the device in Best Buy locations? One could simply go to an AT&T store and have the handset for the same price.
Any Best Buy customers who have purchased the iPhone 3G? Tell us how it went!

Getting an HTC Touch Diamond without being forced to opt for a two-year plan from Sprint is quite easy. All you have to do is go to a Best Buy and ask for an unlocked HTC Touch Diamond. But you can’t have everything. The price is said to be pretty steep. $700, that’s how much an unlocked HTC Touch Diamond will cost in the Best Buy stores.
Or you can wait until September 14th when Sprint will launch the Diamond. Following the official release we might expect prices to drop in Best Buy stores too.
