    New Belkin CushDesk

When you use your laptop or notebook, you may notice that it feels like it is heating up. While that can be controlled internally, the uneasy feeling of warmth forces you to surrender the device into a neutral surface due to the amassed amount of heat.

However, with the Belkin Cushdesk, you will no longer have to worry about that. With CushDesk, you can use your laptop comfortably anywhere in your home—on your couch, your bed, or the floor.

Its solid molded top provides a smooth and sturdy surface, or “work space.” CushDesk is designed with a slight angle so you can easily view your laptop screen at a more comfortable angle. Additionally, its slim design lets you easily store it in your living room or bedroom.

    Price: $29.99

Never worry about running low on batteries for your iPod or iPhone anymore. There is a suitable car charger for you courtesy of Belkin’s new Micro Auto Charger and Dual Auto Charger.

Micro Auto Charger is packaged in a compact design and adds no extra bulk to your dashboard. Sitting nearly flush with your dashboard, the Micro Auto Charger still allows room on its lip for you to easily detach it from your dashboard. It also charges at 1 amp — ideal for iPhone devices and certain GPS systems in that it will charge at the device’s fullest power.

With its two USB ports, the Dual Auto Charger lets you charge your iPod through one port while charging your cell phone in the other, simultaneously. One quick-charge port powers at 1 amp for your iPhone, and the second port charges at 500 milliamps, which will support iPod devices and cell phones such as BlackBerry phones.

It appears Belkin is working on a JoyPad controller which would be available through the App Store when it’s ready. There’s no price or availability and I am not sure if this project will see the light of day.

There are no details on how such a JoyPad will work. It looks similar to the iControlPad we’ve seen in the past. Does the iPhone or iPod touch fit inside? What about the controls on the right? Is the screen going to shrink to allow virtual buttons on the right? Who would want that? After all whenever we’re playing games we want to take full advantage of a bigger screen.
We’ll have to wait and see if this information checks out or not.

One of the perks of having a laptop as the main working station is being able to virtually work anywhere. Online or offline, as long as there’s a full battery you can step away from your formal office desk and work from your bed or favorite armchair.

The problem with keeping your laptop on your lap is that the excessive heat might be the cause of infertility. And since this a studied and proven fact, accessories manufacturers keep coming up with solutions for cooling those hot laptops down. Belkin has a new cooling lounge for your laptop. The adjustable height and the size, it can hold a 17 inch easily, makes me an interested customer. I am mostly avoiding desks and uncomfortable chairs. Once it gets out, this cooling device will sell for $39.99 which isn’t bad at all.

  • Belkin TuneCast Universal Gets FCC Nod

    Belkin Tunecast Universal

Belin’s TuneCast Universal is your solution for transmitting audio from your iPod or other portable MP3 player onto your car’s stereo. It can conveniently be mounted on any smooth surface using the multi-mount socket and mount with adhesive backing. It comes with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack that you plug your iPod or MP3 player to, and works off your car’s battery.

Tune the car’s radio to a frequency with a weak broadcast signal, and press the up/down buttons on the TuneCast to select the transmission frequency chosen on your car. The TuneCast can remember two frequencies for easy recall later. It features a frequency display that also shows the memory slot location of that frequency. There are two buttons to switch between memory 1 and memory 2.

The Belkin TuneCast Universal has gained the FCC approval, and should be on its way to the market soon.
