  • Pioneer Releases First iPhone App

A couple of days ago, we had posted about the Pioneer in-dash navigation systems which could be integrated with the popular iPhone. Now, the actual app to be used for the AVIC-U310BT and AVIC-Z110BT in-dash navigation systems has been revealed and it comes in the person of the Avic Feeds. The app creates a link between Apple and the Pioneer in-dash navigation systems that allow anyone to find points of interest or search for destinations in advance via Bluetooth. Thanks to the Avic Feeds, iPhone owners no longer have to plot their course manually since the app can do it all for them.

The Pioneer Avic Feeds app can be downloaded at the Apple Store and pioneerelectronics.com for free.

They are controversial and of course lavishing. Perhaps TOO lavishing thus making their app, the iPorn app for the iPhone and iPod Touch, has not yet been approved for inclusion at the iTunes store. But 5 iPorn girls aim to change all that as they pay a visit to Apple headquarters to try and convince the top Apple execs on the current state of their iPhone application.

At the moment the app can only be accessed via the iPorn website. While most iPhone and iPod Touch owners can always use Safari to access them, the effort is still different if it could be done via the Apple Store. Apple has been known to make controversial approvals on certain apps and it seems that will be the case once again. But this early, iPorn seems to be in high spirits as far as approval for their app is concerned. The approval of the iPorn iPhone app would be Apple’s first step in the right direction - NO MORE CENSORSHIP!

Check out the gallery of the iPorn Girls from their last visit.

Recently having announced the iPhone 3GS availability widget yesterday, Apple made it easier for Mac users to know when their local Apple Store had the phone in stock. But are you still finding it hard to get your hands on a brand-spankin’-new iPhone 3GS? You’re not alone. Luckily, Apple has stepped foward to address this issue announcing the launch of their online iPhone 3GS avalability tool.

This online tool does exactly what its title suggests; shows you what Apple store the iPhone 3GS is available from and which model. The tool breaks it down into both color and capacity making it ridiculously easy for any buyer to pick up exactly the model they want.

You can access the online tool here.

Today, there is no telling how many software app developers there are. But one thing is for sure, not all of them are getting their due. With so many developers today, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if some of them would happen to be left out in the cold due to lack of promotion. But App Giveaway may change all that.

Mobile app Developers and Publishers looking for exposure can now do so with a new website that allows them to giveaway their iPhone/iPod Touch apps by way of a promotional giveaway. App Giveaway (www.appgiveaway.com), allows Publishers and Developers to feature their apps on the website andin return for promo codes which they receive from the Apple Store maximize potential revenue.

This new service which went live this week will be a big boost to developers aching for some attention. And while popular sites showcase on the apps that pass their grade, do not be surprised if you get to see some independent app developers suddenly coming out with better apps that were given the axe.

I don’t know if you were aware of this but iPhones and water don’t exactly mix well. Let me tell you more about it! CNN has all the facts about it. It seems like a certain Kristile Cain returned an iPhone to the local Apple Store when the headphone jack wasn’t working properly. And they would have replaced the handset but the Genius guy noticed that moisture indicator. She said the phone has never been in water. But what Kristile did was to take showers in the same room her iPhone usually rests. Either she’s taking long showers and she likes to be able to answer those hundreds of incoming calls or she has no clue about how water works. Next time she should probably keep the iPhone out of the bathroom. And no, water doesn’t work in mysterious ways; it’s God that does that!

There are a lot of things you can do with your iPhone and this is all thanks to the apps that have been developed for it. But one thing most people are going to love is this surveillance app that is now available at the Apple store.

Smartvue today announced that Smartvue for iPhone is now available on the Apple App Store. The app also adds video surveillance capabilities to any second-generation iPod touch.

“Smartvue for iPhone enables cost effective video surveillance using almost any network camera,” said Martin Renkis, Smartvue’s founder & CEO. “Smartvue for iPhone is a smart, simple, and elegant video surveillance solution for iPhone and offers a natural extension to the award winning line of Smartvue wireless cameras and network video recorders.”

The application delivers network video surveillance capabilities including:

    • Supports an unlimited number of IP cameras
    • Zoom, pan, and tilt with iPhone “pinch” and “squeeze”
    • Free access to network video cameras worldwide (based on mobile package)
    • Works with 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS or EDGE

Smartvue for iPhone requires a JPEG enabled IP camera and supports most common cameras on the market today. Smartvue for iPhone’s point and click interface makes it simple to add network video cameras and edit camera profiles. Patent-pending 1-Click Surveillance offers an elegant interface for one click access to almost any IP camera.

The app uses Wi-Fi, 3G, GPRS or EDGE (whichever is available) to access IP cameras. Smartvue recommends an unlimited data usage plan for using Smartvue over a mobile data connection to avoid being charged by a wireless service provider for 3G, GPRS and EDGE mobile data usage.

The Smartvue application for the iPhone or iPod touch is available for $0.99 from Apple’s App Store on both devices.

The Apple iPod shuffle, the usual starting device for people to get into the iPod craze has long been forgotten due to the various iPod variants introduced in the market.

Today, Apple announced the launch of the new iPod shuffle, the world’s smallest music player at nearly half of the size of the previous model, and the first music player that talks to you. The revolutionary new VoiceOver feature enables iPod shuffle to speak your song titles, artists and playlist names.

The third generation iPod shuffle is significantly smaller than a AA battery, holds up to 1,000 songs and is easier to use with all of the controls conveniently located on the earphone cord. With the press of a button, you can play, pause, adjust volume, switch playlists and hear the name of the song and artist. iPod shuffle features a gorgeous new aluminum design with a built-in stainless steel clip that makes it ultra-wearable.

The third generation 4GB iPod shuffle is now shipping and comes in silver or black for a suggested price of $79 (US) through the Apple Store(R) (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers. iPod shuffle comes with the Apple Earphones with Remote and the iPod shuffle USB cable. iPod shuffle requires a Mac(R) with a USB 2.0 port, Mac OS(R) X v10.4.11 or later and iTunes(R) 8.1 or later; or a Windows PC with a USB 2.0 port and Windows Vista, Windows XP Home or Professional (Service Pack 3) or later and iTunes 8.1.

“Will the Farter’ s Ultimate Fart Machine” takes iPhone fart machine applications to another level providing users with real fart sounds, pictures, fart songs and even “the making of a fart proof gallery” with video segments. Available for download in the Apple Store for $1.99.

The new application goes above and beyond other mobile downloads on the market because these are authentic farts, pictures, fart songs and even “the making of a fart proof gallery” with video segments.

Unlike other Fart Apps, “Will the Farter’s Ultimate Fart Machine” does not reproduce fake fart sounds, as none of the sounds were made by mouth, armpit or computer. Each and every sound is an authentic fart and comes straight from the “insides” of World Famous “Will the Farter.” Farting on queue, Will is credited with doing fart art on canvas; he also serenades his fans to some favorite classic songs like Twinkle, Twinkle Little Fart, Jingle Bell Fart and many more.

The download officially launched Feb. 21, to positive reviews, and “Will the Farter,” will support the application with a National Farting Tour in cities throughout the U.S.
