Android is seriously sweeping the nation, and so it is no surprise that MOTO is looking to put it in their new MID. This device, known as the AMP (Android Media Platform) comes in three forms:

The first is a 5-inch version that will be equipped with a front-facing 8 Megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, multi-touch display, TI OMAP3430 processor, plus 256MB worth of flash with SD card reader. The 10.4 inch version also has the 8 Megapixel camera, multi-touch capacity, and it also has GPS and a 3 Megapixel camera on the back. Believe it or not, there is also plans for a 30 inch version.

All three of these should be out “by early 2010″, but there is no word so far on the price.

Pepsi Co. has issues an apology for its iPhone app, the ‘AMP Up Before You Score’ which categorizes women into 24 types and then makes use of the iPhone’s Internet feature to link users to information about them and what they like. Pepsi AMP is the latest energy drink by Pepsi and apparently the iPhone app is part of their marketing campaign. Types of women listed in the application include punk rocker, bookworm, aspiring actress, artist, and sorority girl.

And while Pepsi intended to come out with a harmless app for fun, the same could not be said for the people who got offended by this type of an app. The apology has been made but the damage has been done. In the end, this instance will hurt Pepsi’s brand image building for AMP rather than boost it up. It back to the old drawing board for Pepsi I guess!

Nike Amp+ Watch Remote Control

Nike’s Amp+, a watch/remote control for the Nike+iPod, has just got the approval from the FCC. You can hear real-time voice feedback on your time, distance, calories and pace when you add the Nike+Ready shoes and Nike + iPod Sports Kit. There’s even a button called the PowerSong on it - which you can set to start your favorite song, ideal for that boost you want during workouts or running.

The remote control lets you set the time, and control volume/track playback on the iPod. Workout functions include Start Workout, Voice Feedback, Play PowerSong, Pause/Resume Workout and End Workout. The watch/remote runs on a Lithium battery, and is water-resistant up to 50 meters. The buckle is made of stainless steel, while the strap is polyurethane and case is made of polycarbonate.

No word on the pricing yet, but it should hit the markets soon.
