Even the USB drives need their share of rugged make and that is what Corsair has in mind. With sensitive data normally stored in them, toughening them up through a super-strong aluminum casing is a good idea. And if you want one that can really withstand the extreme conditions, the 64GB Flash Survivor USB drive from Corsair should be something worth having. The drive is comes with a molded, shock-dampening collar and EPDM seal, which provides water-resistance to a depth of 200 meters.

This drive has already been tested through the worst scenarios which include being run over, dropped, baked and boiled. The Corsair 64GB Flash Survivor USB drive is now available through Corsair authorized dealers which may want to consider coming out with larger storage drives considering the files people put in these portable solutions today.

The case can be made out of aluminum, brass or titanium. You choose! How much will one cost? Well depending on the type of metal you can expect it to cost $95, $95 and $300 respectively. I wonder if the EXOvault will stop a bullet!

The MacBook Air is encased in anodized aluminum, weighing only 3.0 pounds which maks it the lightest computer on the market at this time. I say at this time, because I’m sure it won’t be long before the new MacBook Air will get in our greedy consumers hands. Rumor has it that Apple will replace all aluminum with carbon fiber parts. And we’ve seen lately that most of Apple related rumors turn to reality.

Carbon fiber is an extremely lightweight material, being at the same time exceptionally strong.
Only by just replacing the lower case, the new Macbook Air could weigh 2.78 pounds or lower.
Well again we’ll just have to wait and see.

    New Apple iMac

Apple unleashed the new all-in-one iMac line-up boasting 20″ and 24″ widescreen displays safely enclosed in aluminum and glass bodies. Powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors and an ultra-thin Apple Keyboard (also made of aluminum), the new iMacs also boast integrated iSight video camera for video conferencing.

The all-in-one design on the new iMac provides for a clutter-free desktop, with one sleek enclosure along with a glass cover to create a seamless front surface. The drool-worthy 20- and 24-inch screens make for some true-to-life displays, whether you are working with images or watching the latest Bourne movie. Despite this, the keyboard design looks sucky at best, being available in the same old design. Of course, it depends on how much typing you actually do on the typing. If you are a, ahem, blogger, that thing will give you all kinds of pains in no time flat.

The keyboard is available in two avataars - a wired model and a wireless one, that works over Bluetooth and requires three AA batteries. The 20-inch 2.0GHz iMac, featuring a 250GB SATA hard drive, while the 2.4GHz version comes with a 320GB hard drive. The 24-inch iMac is available only in the 2.4GHz version and is equipped with a 320GB hard drive as well.

    Prices:

  • 20-inch 2.0GHz iMac: US $1,199
  • 20-inch 2.4GHz iMac: US $1,499
  • 24-inch 2.4GHz iMac: US $1,799Specs in the extended entry.
