  • With Apple’s event approaching fast it’s no wonder resellers are preparing for the announcement of the new iPod line. It looks like Best Buy has gone ahead and posted some new listings of Belkin’s “3rd-Generation” iPod touch cases. We don’t have pictures of said cases but we know they will cost you from $24.99 to $29.99. And like that wasn’t enough, it seems that Best Buy also has new cases for the upcoming fifth-generation iPod nanos. So what do you say folks? Ready for some shopping sprees come tomorrow?

We have enough of iPhone/iPod touch charging solutions out there but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to see even more emerge. The newest such accessory is coming from Novothink. This solar charger is licensed by Apple and it will charge your iPhone and/or iPod touch when you need extra juice. The charger comes with solar panel on the back, USB-charging support and LEDs showing you the state of the charge.

One of these bad boys will cost you $70 later this month but they will only charge second-gen iPod touches. The chargers needed for iPhones will only be available in November.

What you see above may at first glance look like nothing more than an iPhone displaying some sort of playing card app. However, you would be wrong if you thought this, as what you see above are actually iPhone-themed playing cards.

Made out of 100% washable PVC these cards will be the perfect addition (or gift) for any geek who has a knack for collecting everything Apple. Then again, Apple might have their lawyers take a closer look at this one but until now you can pick these up for $25, here.

Don’t get too excited folks but it seems that the fifth generation iPod nano is going to be unveiled sometime in September. And while we have no official details coming from the Cupertino-based company, we stumbled upon this protective silicon case which was designed for the iPod nano 5G. As you can clearly see the case reveals the camera location of the future iPod. The case appears to have been specifically designed for the nano 5G although we can’t confirm the validity of the picture here. We should assume though that more cases and leaked pictures of the iPod nano 5G are going to appear around the web if Apple is indeed to launch a new nano so stick around for more rumors!

Call me old-fashioned but I am happy with just an USB mouse attached to my laptop. Some people on the other hand would like something more exciting connected to their computer, like a chainsaw for example. What would you do with it that’s really beside the point. What matters is that the i.Saw is both cool and dangerous at the same time. Just crazy enough to impress your friends! Would you get one? Is it even legal for people to sell it as a computer accessory? Well it looks like it is. For $59.95 + shipping and handling you’re going to have this baby shipped to any address in the world this September.

The Sound Jacket from Radiopaq is an accessory for your iPod nano 4G which promises to improve the sound quality of your favorite tracks. The device will apparently solve a problem you didn’t know you had, “the distortion that can sometimes result from a static EQ setting” and it will also show you that “hidden detail in the music that is lost during MP3 compression.” That way the sound quality of your nano will increase by about 60%. What do you think? Would you pay an extra $115 for the device?

With weather getting better and better here in North-East USA, it’s time to head for the outdoors. As anyone new to camping will have experienced, pitching up a tent while holding a flashlight in your mouth is not the most convenient thing on earth. Well, Energizer (the “bunny” company) recently unveiled a series of headlights. The new Trailfinder series of headlights and cap lights come in different variations – 1, 3 and 6 LED lights, and as you can guess, they take standard AAA batteries.

At MobileWhack, we received the 3-LED and 6-LED units for review. Both are exactly the same except for the number of LEDs and levels of light offered, which can be selected by repeatedly pressing the single button on top.

  • The Palm Pre isn’t even here and we hear that Best Buy has Pre accessories already entered into its inventory. The Touchstone charging dock is going is naturally mentioned on that list and it has a $69.99 price tag. Besides that Best Buy has five cases listed in its inventory. The items above are in stock starting with May 10th which is surprising at least. So when is the Pre coming them? Why would Best Buy get Pre accessories that early?

Forget headphones and earphones. How about some nice shoulderphones?  That’s what a Korean company seems to be marketing with a product called Soundwalk, an unsightly contraption that’s supposed to be hung on your shoulders to omit the need of headphones, thereby preventing any accidents that might occur if you are jogging to the tunes on your iPod oblivious to the outside world.  The Soundwalk speaker vest is powered by two AAA batteries and has two speakers tucked into the shoulder pads, an ideal place because of the proximity to the ears providing best quality sound, while leaving the user aware of his/her surroundings.  Also present is a front pocket to house your favorite mp3 player, connecting directly to the shoulder speakers.

The Soundwalk speaker vest is now available in Europe and on some online sites at £39.99 (approx. $55), but beware of the severe drop in style points that you might experience once you take the plunge.

    Desk Lips

    Desk Lips
Desk Lips is a talking hands free gadget that you connect to any cell phone using a clip that connects to the cell phone speaker. The gadget loudspeaker comes with a pair of plump humanoid lips that then move as your caller talks. Desk Lips measures 4.4 inches x 4.4 inches x 4.1 inches and weighs 9.6 ounces, which would be considered too big by some people and just about right by others. It’s definitely more for fun than convenience, and makes the perfect companion for a home office or workplace office where you have a bit of privacy.

What’s especially great is that the user interface is so bizarre and freeing that it can and will lead to lots of pantomime sarcasm as you respond to the silver flapping mouth. Not for everyone, but a great gag gift for a birthday or office party. The Desk Lips Hands Free Gadget retails for about $35.

  • Nokia unleashed its latest Nseries phone, the Nokia N79 Active, featuring a running companion - the Polar Bluetooth WearLink heart rate belt. Polar is one of the more popular brands out there when it comes to active gear - I have used their heart rate monitors when running and they are quite useful. The N79 Active comes with A-GPS tracking, as well as the Nokia Sports Tracker app to record and publish your running/biking routes as well as fitness data onto the web. The Nokia N79 Active features a 5-megapixel camera, as usual with Carl Zeiss optics.

I particularly like the Sports Tracker app - I am all for sharing routes with fellow runners. Also the smallest Nokia Nseries device yet, the N79 Active comes with sporty headphones and an armband. The phone comes with a 4GB microSD memory card for your songs and photos - and integrates nicely with the Nokia Music Store (not yet available in the US). To top it all, there’s a good old FM receiver.

Priced at €375 (before taxes and subsidies) - or US $492, the Nokia N79 Active will be available in select markets.

What would be a cool accessory to go with the Sony Ericsson C905, you say? Well, SE has just the thing for you: the Sony Ericsson MBW-150 Bluetooth Watch (Music Edition). The folks over at PureMobile sent us one of the latest units for review.

    Packaging

The phone comes in a pretty big box - not something you would expect for a watch. But then again, that’s because packaging includes the charger as well. The watch comes in its own box, just like any other watch.

Sony Ericsson MBW-150 Music Edition Bluetooth Watch

Sony Ericsson MBW-150 Music Edition Bluetooth Watch

    Bluetooth Music Control

With support for the Bluetooth Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP), the watch lets you control the music player on your phone. This is highly convenient especially when you are, say, on the treadmill because you won’t have to fiddle around with the controls on the phone with your sweaty hands.

  • Alien Mouse Spotted

We’ve seen yesterday an E-Ball PC concept so why not look for some accessories to go along with it. Although it has an integrated mouse, you might want something special, a more ergonomic mouse.

Let’s play pretend and say we are in the near future as that ball computer exists. The model mouse you must be looking for is the Alien Mouse. The concept behind it is to provide maximum efficiency and comfort by molding itself to the user’s hand.

Bring Some Color to Your iPhone

Now I am not saying there’s not enough color into your 3G iPhone. On the contrary. The touchscreen has been updated to show better looking color effects than its predecessor. I am saying you might want to change its appearance. After all there are over 1 million owners that carry a black or white version of the 3G handset. Why not color yours differently.

One of the perks of having a laptop as the main working station is being able to virtually work anywhere. Online or offline, as long as there’s a full battery you can step away from your formal office desk and work from your bed or favorite armchair.

The problem with keeping your laptop on your lap is that the excessive heat might be the cause of infertility. And since this a studied and proven fact, accessories manufacturers keep coming up with solutions for cooling those hot laptops down. Belkin has a new cooling lounge for your laptop. The adjustable height and the size, it can hold a 17 inch easily, makes me an interested customer. I am mostly avoiding desks and uncomfortable chairs. Once it gets out, this cooling device will sell for $39.99 which isn’t bad at all.
