  • If you’re currently a T-Mobile customer and are on the market for a full touch-screen device but have decided not to opt for the myTouch 3G, perhaps you should check out Samsung’s recently announced Highlight handset.

Pictured above, this handset features all of the most sought after features such as an ultra-thin design, 3MP camera with digital zoom and video recording capabilities, stereo blutooth, a microSD slot, A-GPS, HSDPA and a music player with support for MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+ files. Additionally, the Samsung Highlight will be available in two color schemes; fire and ice (red and blue?).

LG is proud to announce that their GT500 handset has officially launched exclusively on T-Mobile UK.Sure, it’s no BL40 but the GT500 still packs a punch with its 3-inch touchscreen, 5MP camera with autofocus, image stabilization and digital zoom.

Additionally, the GT500 will feature high quality built-in Dolby 2.0 sound (but no 3.5mm headphone jack) and A-GPS. No it’s not an iPhone or a Palm Pre, hell it’s not even running Android, but instead it’s Samsung’s previously unannounced Jet. This phone came seemingly out of no where but from the looks of the specs its shaping up to be an amazing device.

The phone features an 800MHz processor (as compared to the iPhone 3G S‘ 600Mhz) a 5MP camera, a 3.1-inch touchscreen AMOLED display, A-GPS, 2GB/8GB of internal storage with a microSD slot for an additional 16GB and last but not least a Samsung developed Webkit-touting web browser entitled Dolfin. OS wise its said to be running TouchWiz 2.0 which is a Samsung developed UI hoping to make for a more immersive and intuitive experience.

Now unfortunately there is no word on if we will ever see the Samsung Jet hit stateside but if/when it does its sure to generate quite the buzz. You can get more information on the Samsung Jet, courtesy of Samsung USA, here.

One of the main gripes consumers have had with the iPhone is that there is no proper turn-by-turn navigation software. Sure, Google Maps with GPS works but using it while driving is a safety hazard to say the least.

Thankfully, TomTom has stepped in and teamed up with Apple to introduce an application that does just that, provides users with the same turn-by-turn navigation you would see on a conventional GPS device.

Also showcased was the TomTom iPhone dock that will let you stick the device to your windshield just like a normal TomTom GPS system. There is no word on pricing but considering this app does exactly what a $100+ GPS system would do, it’s safe to say it won’t be cheap.

Expect the TomTom for iPhone app to hit the App Store sometime after iPhone OS 3.0 goes live.

    Nokia N82 Multimedia Computer

Make way for another 5 megapixel camera - umm, make that cameraphone - from Nokia. The new Nokia N82 is the latest “multimedia computer” optimized for photography, and the ability to share photos instantly. Boasting Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash, the N82 is the N95’s successor. The phone also features A-GPS and comes pre-installed with Nokia Maps. Depending on your location, you will also have an option to purchase free voice-guided navigation as a trial.

The N82 apparently takes great photos even in low light, and with a dedicated autofocus assist lamp, can easily replace another gadget in your backpack. Add to it the already popular high-quality video recording and you have one converged device with the N82. A 2GB microSD memory card is supplied with the phone - good for 900 hi-res photos or about 84 minutes of video.

With Wi-Fi support, you can conveniently upload all your photos onto the many, many online communities. A new 3D multimedia menu is now available, and the phone features an orientation sensor that switches the UI between portrait and landscape modes.

Priced at €450, the Nokia N82 is now out in the wild.

  • Nokia N95 8GB

Finally, the big bad version of the Nokia N95 tumbled out of Nokia’s stables. The Nokia N95 8GB - that all-in-one multimedia powerhouse - is now available with more storage than ever, featuring the same 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss optics, integrated A-GPS, WLAN and HSDPA support. This Nokia N95 also features a new luminous 2.8″ QVGA display, making it convenient to watch videos or when using the navigation functionality of the device.

With 8 GB on-board, you can store 20 hours of video or as many as 6000 songs. This baby is not out yet, with Nokia announcing a shipping date of some time in Q4 of 2007. It will carry a price tag of €560 (excluding taxes/subsidies).
