If you remember correctly, when we started talking about Dell’s notebooks, the E Slim line, we had some leaked info according to which Dell was supposed to launch multiple notebooks of different sizes. We already have the Inspiron Mini 9 but that’s about it.

So what do we have in the picture here? It might just be the 12 inch Dell E Slim notebook we have been waiting for. We don’t have anything official yet but who knows what next week will bring. Besides the new Apples we might see new Dell showing up.

Dell has recently launched its netbook line. The Inspiron Mini 9 entered the market a little late, but I am confident it will catch the competition soon. And Dell went ahead and made its netbook available with Linux OS but with a twist. If you want to choose Ubuntu 8.04 as your default operating system then you will automatically choose the 8GB SSD model. If you want more memory, better get a card or an external hard drive.

The Mini 9 Linux version costs £269 or $472 while the Windows XP version costs £299 or $525.

I guess Psystar fans should definitely see this. While the people who installed a running copy of Mac OS X aren’t trying to sell the tuned Dell Inspiron Mini 9 to anyone, this goes to prove that Appe’s OS could run on PC’s too. Imagine what would happen if Psystar wins it’s trial with Apple! Imagine how Microsoft will go all berserk if a judge will tell manufacturers that selling PC with Mac OS X will be ok! (more…)

iron-man Marking the entry of Hollywood in PC manufacturing, Dell and Paramount Pictures have teamed up to allow consumers to preload Iron Man into newly purchased computers. This is the only film currently being offered, and consumers will be able to purchase it for an additional $20 on the price of their newly configured Dell computers.

"The key focus here is to lead off our slow immersion into content as a major piece of the puzzle in terms of what consumers want from a PC," said Rachna Bhasin, director of content for Dell’s global consumer group.

The movie will be preinstalled on Dell’s Inspiron, Studio and XPS laptop and desktop models. Surely crippled with DRM, consumers will be able to watch it on their computers, their TVs and burn one copy to DVD. Dell hopes to increase the selection of movies in the future.

Apple shares took a 17% tumble today. Everybody else who’s anybody saw their shares dropping valuable points today. No matter what business we are talking about, its shares took a smaller or bigger plunge following the Nasdaq and Dow Jones.

The $700 billion emergency bailout failed to pass the House today creating one of the worst trading days in Wall Street ever since 9/11. The Dow Jones lost 800 points which is its personal worst ever. (more…)

The FCC has just revealed a Dell printer which is going to be released soon. It’s a Bluetooth printer which will print stuff for you without ink. It’s going to use Zink technology for printing but we don’t exactly know more details. We’re probably going to have a similar printing experience to Polaroid-pictures printing.

Almost one year ago Dell released the Precision M6300 laptop, and they are making a come back by launching the M6400 model. The high-end notebook has a nice set of specifications, which include an Intel Core 2 Quad processor running at 2.54GHz, plus 4GB of DDR3 RAM memory, and a graphics card powered by NVIDIA – Quadro FX 2700M with 512MB.

There is an option on the type of hard-drive, that can either be SSD (Solid State Drive) with a maximum capacity of 128GB, or the normal dual hard drives boasting 640GB. Thanks to the 17-inch screen there are two resolution options: 1440×900 and 1920×1200 pixels. The connectivity is made by WiFi (802.11 a/g/n), Bluetooth, Ultra-Wideband, GPS, USB ports, Firewire, and eSATA.

You know you were waiting for this, and even though it’s not in the states, it sounds pretty cool. Vodafone has announced that they will begin offering Dell’s netbook, the Mini 9, with bundled 3G connectivity.

While users will be paying £25 per month (or about $45) for 1GB of transfers every month, Vodafone promises users of the bundle download speeds in the ranges of 1Mb/s and 5Mb/s. You obviously won’t be doing much torrenting, but you can check your emails damn fast!

Well is it just me or have you also noticed the recent price drop for the Asus Eee PC 901? Amazon dropped the price for the 1000H to $449 while the 901’s price dropped from $599 to $499. That was yesterday. Now, at Walmart locations you will find the Asus Eee PC 901 for just $448.

Dell has designed a new mouse and a new keyboard for your future desktop systems. As you can see in the picture above, the mouse doesn’t look special. What’s special about it is the fact that it will sport the LaserStream Technology developed by Agilent Technologies and currently used in various Logitech G-series mice. That means the boring Dell mouse will have a second-generation laser sensor which will run at around 2000 DPI. (more…)

Dell’s Studio 15 line of laptops will get 3G data cards. Sounds familiar? Sure it does since those Inspiron 9 babies have the same option.

Studio 15 laptops will feature an integrated EVDO card. Service will be available from either Verizon or Sprint. The card itself will cost $150 but a 2-year subscription from Verizon will get you a $125 off that price. That’s the price to pay if you want to get 3G broadband when you’re mobile. Or you could always tether a certain phone to a certain laptop…

We’ve been waiting for this Dell for quite a while now. It’s the future rival of the Eee and the Wind, but it’s not officially out yet. According to latest rumors the new release date for the Inspiron 910 is September 5th.

If that’s true, in less than three days the first Dell E-Mini comes out. The netbook will offer you a choice of RAM from 512MB to 1GB, a choice of SSD from 4 to 16GB and an WWAN option. According to leaked specs we also know Dell wants to sell it for $299 and we know it has ordered about a million of them. Will any of this get confirmed this Friday?

Are we getting new XPS laptops from Dell? Well it certainly looks that way. According to leaked images, the two new machines, the Studio XPS 13 and 16 are supposed to come out in November.

The new laptops are said to come with Intel Centrino 2 processors, with hybrid SLI support, slot-loading Blu-ray drives, edge-to-edge glass displays with LED backlight, WiMAX and UWB and backlit keyboards.

There aren’t any prices offered yet but we’re keeping an eye on them for you.

It seems that 8600M GT problems aren’t plaguing only the Apple MacBook Pros, but Dell machines as well, with failures reported from both companies.

To remedy the problem, Dell has recently extended the warranty on machines with the 8600M GT by one year, giving users more leeway just in case theirs happens to fail.

Nvidia apparently doesn’t want to take this problem mainstream as they still haven’t announced all of the models that could be defective, all we know right know is that 8600M GT’s with 128MB to 512MB of ram are possible defective. A recall or something would be nice.
