Verizon is releasing another member of the BlackBerry family with the BlackBerry Curve 8530. This one has Wi-Fi capacity that was not part of the previous version of the Curve.

The 8530 also has EV-DO, 256MB worth of flash memory, a 528MHz next generation processor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, music player with media keys, a 2.0 megapixel camera and camcorder as well as GPS support for geotagging pictures. If that isn’t enough, users have access to BlackBerry’s App World and can add up to 16GB of micro SD/SDHC card storage.

You’ll have to wait until November 20th to get the BlackBerry Curve 8530, and it will cost $99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and two-year agreement.

Guess what folks? The CDMA version of the BlackBerry Gemini is going to be available from Verizon Wireless soon. And if you disappointed to find out that the 8520 is coming from T-Mobile without WiFi support then you’re probably going to want the 8530 from Verizon. That’s right, the Aries heading to Big Red will offer you WiFi support just as will any other future Berry coming from Verizon.

Other specs include:

  • 320×240 resolution screen
  • 1xRTT, EV-DO
  • QWERTY keyboard
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • OS 5.0
  • Bluetooth
  • Wi-Fi b,g

We have no idea when the 8530 will be available but we’re expecting Verizon to match T-Mobile’s pricing.

If you’ve seen the BlackBerry Gemini or the curve 8520, then you absolutely have to see the BlackBerry Aries. That way you’ll be able to make an informed decision when purchasing your next RIM device. So what is the Aries? Well the Aries is the same phone as the Gemini but it comes with CDMA support. That’s where you get to choose your future carrier. So what carrier will it be? The Curve 8520 aka the Gemini or the Curve 8530 aka the Aries?
