Intel has recently issued a press release detailing their recently launched 34nm SSDs. Despite featuring so called “advanced” technology buzz circulating suggests that the average user won’t notice any notable performance gains, but then what’s so special about them?
Well, Intel is hoping that the price tag will set them apart from the rest with the 80GB version being priced at $225 and the 160GB version at $440. Intel also lets us know that 1 year ago these two drives were priced at $595 and $945 respectively.
Will you be picking up one of Intel’s new 34nm SSDs or do they need to release them in higher capacities to win you over?
Press release after the break.

It seems that woot.com’s deal of the day today focuses on Microsoft’s iPod competitor, the Zune. They currently have up for sale a refurbished 80GB Zune in addition to a Home A/V pack for $149.99 plus $5 shipping.
To put this into perspective, a brand new 120GB Zune retails for around $230 while a refurbished 80GB Zune sells for about $170. Add that to the ~$79.99 you’d be paying for a Zune Home A/V pack and you have a deal that you can really woot about.
While this is a great deal, I think I’ll hold off until the Zune HD hits the market.
