Way back in October of last year we were given a glimpse at Mimo’s debut USB monitor that allowed users a second screen using nothing more than a USB cable. Well, Mimo has again shown us a USB monitor but this one has a bit of a spin (or should I say slide?) to it.
Entitled the 710-S, this monitor is basically the same as the one we saw in October expect it’s aestehtic hardware has been revised making for a sleeker and foldable unit.
Mimo currently has the 710-S USB monitor up for pre-order at $149.99.

This is not the first netbook set to run on Google’s Android and I have the feeling we’re going to see more and more of them in the following months. Kinpo will make a 7-inch Android tablet featuring a Freescale i.MX51 processor and a WVGA display. The device has been shown at Computex but we have no idea when this Thin Client will actually be available to the general public as it needs some tweaks here and there to work properly. Check out the video above to see for yourself.

Looking for a new GPS unit? How about one of the two new Nextar creations? The SNAP 5 and the SNAP 7 are the devices I am talking about. The SNAP 5 has a 5-inch touchscreen while the 7 has a 7-inch touchscreen. Nothing unexpected so far, but it’s quite an upgrade from the SNAP 3 version! Both devices are just 0.7 inch thick and they will get you stereo speakers. text-to-speech support, Tele Atlas maps, an SD card slot, MP3 player functionality, 2D/3D viewing modes, a rechargeable Li-ion battery and a magnetic docking station.
Both devices will arrive at the SEMA 2008 in November but they will arrive in stores only next Spring. Prices you ask? $299.99 or $349.99, depending on which one you’ll pick!

In case you’re the type of person that doesn’t like to miss an important episode of your favorite TV series, check out this portable 7-inch LCD that will become your best partner in a matter of minutes. Made in Japan by Nikkai, the LCD is able to receive 2 signals, digital and analog.
This portable TV has a battery life of 2 hours, which can be considered good for what it has to offer, and taking in consideration the size of the screen. There are 3 good extras that stand out:
- remote control
- AV cable
- integrated stand to mount it on top of a table
If the integrated speakers aren’t good enough for your needs, don’t worry because you just use headphones, or better yet, external speakers.

Here’s an interesting concept, the Mimo 7 inch LCD. The LCD is available in Korea for now and it could help you multitask easier. Imagine blogging for MobileWhack each day on your main screen while the instant messenger is running on a small LCD like that. Get two of those and play a movie too while you’re at it.
If you spend a lot of time working in front of the computer, then you should consider getting a second LCD and then a third. And so on. But a tiny LCD could come in handy while traveling too. You have two Mimo options. The first one is the basic screen version which is only $78 while the more advanced UM-750 which has a touchscreen, TV tuner and built-in webcam would cost $147.
