Tiny flash drives provide big storage capacity, that is what Transcend had in mind when creating the JetFlash T5, and that is what all manufacturers of storage devices should think.
The small drive only measures 29.9mm x 15.3mm x 6.1mm, so if volume is one of your main concerns this is definitely a good pick. On the other hand, using a flash drive of such short dimensions could be problematic if you tend to forget your gadgets all over the place. As you can imagine, the T5 is also very light - only 2 grams.
The USB drive uses non-breakable plastic as the material, which means it is very rugged, and additionally it is resistant to vibration, shock, and waterproof.

Someone clearly didn’t ready the soup recipe for the next generation iPod nano. Therefore Apple manufactured a few, and by a few I mean a small, undisclosed amount, new nanos with only 4GB of memory available. The nano will come only in two sizes officially: 8GB and the 16GB. The 4GB version spotted in Europe is probably the bastard brother that nobody planned for. (more…)

The Nokia 5310 XpressMusic (for some reason listed as the Nokia 5310b XpressMusic in the manuals) mobile phone got approval from the FCC. Featuring an aluminium finish, it is 9.9mm thin and weighs in at just 71 grams.
Nokia claims an 18-hour music playback time (of course, this doesn’t include talk time). The phone can take in microSD memory cards up to 4GB in capacity - good for up to 3000 songs. There’s a 2 megapixel camera on board. The Nokia 5310 XpressMusic also features a 2 inch QVGA screen that offers 16 million colors.
Thanks to the FCC approval, the phone is on target for its Q4 2007 release. Priced at €225 before taxes and subsidies, there’s no info on when it will hit the US markets.

Targeting students entering the forthcoming semester, IOGear unveiled two new products for those on the move. The new 4GB Flash Wallet Drive (model GFD204B) and 3-in-1 Wireless Phaser Presentation Mouse (model GME422RW6) can be useful accessories. The Wallet Drive, just 3mm thick and smaller than a business card, is convenient to carry around. Well, okay, even a USB flash drive is convenient, but I guess you can’t beat the 3mm ‘thin’ factor here. You can backup your work/presentations or swap music. It plugs into existing USB 2.0/1.1 ports and also supports Windows ReadyBoost (when used with Windows Vista).
The 3-in-1 Phaser presentation cordless mouse is a laser pointer, track ball with optical capabilities. It works with both PCs and Macs, and communicates with a USB receiver that plugs into your computer. Offering a good 30-feet range, it provides an easy way to make computer-based presentations in the classroom. When used on a solid surface, it operates in optical mode between 800-1600 dpi. The Phaser mouse is covered with Nano Coating to prevent bacteria from surviving on the product.
The 4GB Flash Wallet Drive carries a price tag of US $69.95 while the Phaser mouse costs US $59.95. Both are now available.
