3D is making its way into mobile phones and 3M is making sure that handheld device users will not be left behind. 3M unveils a newly developed product called the 3D optical film for handheld devices which helps enable 3D viewing on mobile phones, gaming and other related handheld gadgets without the need for those special 3D glasses. The 3D optical film is integrated into the backlight module and requires only one LCD panel. This in turn will allow the mobile device with the film to run at 120MHZ refresh rate.

This new 3D optical film will be presented at the Korea Electronics Show from October 13 to 16 at the KINTEX center.

People waiting for the official pricing of the 3M MicroTouch Displays can now study their options as 3M Touch Systems has announced the pricing for its 3M MicroTouch Display product line.

By investing in its global supply chain despite the current economic conditions, 3M continues to support its commitment to distributors and customers to provide readily-available, competitively-priced 15-inch and 17-inch desktop and chassis touch display products.

All 3M MicroTouch Displays feature 3M’s all-glass surface capacitive touch technology, which offers increased surface durability when compared to typical 5-wire resistive displays. This robust touch solution helps customers stretch their investment dollars by reducing the need to replace worn out or damaged sensors.

3M’s surface capacitive technology also offers superior image brightness compared to resistive displays and provides reliable operation in the presence of screen contaminants, such as grime, grease, and liquids. In addition, all 3M MicroTouch Displays have a three-year “unlimited touches” warranty.

Effective immediately, all 3M MicroTouch Display products are currently in-stock at most authorized 3M North American distributors at new competitive prices. Visit www.3m.com/touch for a listing of 3M’s authorized touch display distributors.

3M Touch Systems provides innovative touch technology products to customers worldwide under the “MicroTouch” brand. Popular interactive applications include casino gaming, retail point of sale, foodservice, hospitality, self-service, industrial, healthcare and interactive digital signage.

Removable 3M Mobile Privacy Film

As much as possible, anyone who has a mobile device would want to see their LCD screens bright and clear. But at times, there are some who would not want to attract attention such as allowing others to see text messages or contents of their phone. With that said, 3M, known for providing films and tints has come up with a removable privacy film that not only helps protect your mobile privacy but protect your gadget from scratches as well.

3M™ Mobile Privacy Film is available in convenient custom cut pieces (for specific cellular models) or a trimable sheet. Choose which works best for you based on your device model and screen size. Trim-to-fit sheet cuts easily with a sharp scissor (cutting grid included).

Get the freedom to text, check email, or manage your banking from anywhere while you keep your personal business from becoming public knowledge.
