It may look like an over-priced flash drive at $23 but you have to give technology some allowance in making it happen. This solar cell USB key called the Sun Drive comes in various capacities (2.1G, 2.2G, 2.3G and 2.4G). As you would guess, it solicits its power from the sun (solar power) which should become an ideal alternative for mobile phone power (100 minutes of talk time) or as a power source for MP3 players (35 hours). It may seem bulky but this is because of the solar cell and the battery. Overall, this is should be a handy gadget, especially for the ones who have all kinds of gadgets on the go.

In case you want to be aware of your children’s exact locations at all times then there’s a simple gadget which will help you with that. The Amber Alert GPS 2G acts as a wearable GPS gadget which can be called and texted by parents at any time. In turn the beacon will send a SMS message to the worried parents with the location of their offspring. Alternatively parents will be able to track the kids on the web and the “bread crumbing” feature will create a trail based on the child’s route. That way you can get a message when your kid reaches a certain destination or whenever he or she leaves a certain safe zone. The Amber Alert GPS 2G is available right now for $379.99 and you’ll also be required to choose a monthly plan which can go from $9.99 per month all the way up to $59.98 per month. No matter what plan you choose, you do know that after a certain age you’re going to have to learn to trust them right?

If there is a Cash for Clunkers program, then surely there will be one made for the iPhone. And on that note, CashforiPhones.com is offering a practically similar deal, offering cash of up to $300 for used 2G or 3G iPhones which are in good condition or not.
Yes you heard it right. They are also buying broken iPhones for the same amount, a deal that other companies are surely going to find difficult equaling. The amount gotten from this exchange would be great for consumers in buying a new iPhone 3GS in the market.
Unlike other companies, CashforiPhones provides the pre-paid, insured shipping box and packing materials. Once the seller receives a quote at www.CashforiPhones.com, he or she can receive a check or even an instant Paypal deposit.
What happens to the traded-in phones? CashforiPhones refurbishes them and recycles them. They erase the existing memory (if it is working) and then refurbished for re-sale to wholesale recyclers.

Sure, what is pictured may look like an ordinary USB modem, but it’s not, it’s Sony Ericsson’s MD400G USB modem!
OK, so maybe the MD400G doesn’t have any super powers, but it does feature a microSD/Memory Stick Micro M2 slot with storage capacities up to 8GB. However, in terms of stuff you guys actually care about, it features 7.2Mbps download speeds, the ability to roam globally on 2G/3G and built-in GPS.
Best of all, it’s currently free on Rogers with a 3 year contract.

AT&T’s 3G network has had its ups and downs, well most of them were downs, so that’s why the company is going to be introducing N-SET. N-SET stands for Network Settings Solution and it will be rolled out this month. This new trick will supposedly balance traffic between the carrier’s 2G and 3G networks and reduce the load on the 3G network. What that means is that AT&T customers will use 2G for voice and 3G for data usage. Will that be enough for AT&T to enhance its 3G network performance before the new iPhone arrives?

You’re never going to believe this but NTT DoCoMo is planning on dismantling its 2G network and offer 3G coverage to all its subscribers. Do you think that will be a hard thing to accomplish? Well it might be easier than most of expect it to be. 88% of NTT DoCoMo’s subscribers were using 3G handsets according to December 2008 stats. And the company wants to go 100% 3G by 2012 which seems really easy to do considering that it has to convert only 12% of its customers to 3G. All this is happening while other carriers have very poor, or limited 3G networks. Good job NTT DoCoMo! Everyone else should follow your example!

You might be tired of this phrase but I’ll have to repeat it! The iPhone Dev Team has done it again. They said redsn0w was coming and it was delivered. MuscleNerd from the Team has done the same thing he did with yellowsn0w. He demoed redsn0w on video proving this time that the iPod touch 2G is vulnerable and it can be jailbroken.
The jailbreak is pretty smart too. It manages to escape Apple’s anti-jailbreak function which is supposed to stop the device from booting in case a jailbreak code is detected. Expect a redsn0w release soon then. And we’ll announce it when it arrives!

The second generation iPod touch will be definitely jailbroken soon. The iPhone Dev Team has made some progress and these screen shots should prove that. From what we can see so far, everything isn’t just ready yet but the iPhone Dev Team promises that a very simple application will be launched soon to crack the iPod.
The Team will launch a demo video later today to show us how the iPod touch 2G jailbreak works.

The iPhone Dev Team has decided to move to the next objective. After unlocking and jailbreaking the first iPhone and iPod touch and then the iPhone 3G the Team will jailbreak the iPod touch 2G. The hackers have posted a rather cryptic message on their blog which hints at the jailbreak of the newest iPod touch.
Here’s the message:
Well it isn’t a British Thermonuclear Device.
It isn’t an episode from “The Twilight Zone”
And it certainly isn’t iPhone 3G related (right now)
There is one other device…
It fits in your pocket..
What can it be?
The new project is codenamed redsn0w and it might arrive as soon as next Sunday.
