T-Mobile is going to increase their SMS prices. They will actually double them, from $0.10 to $0.20 per message. This change will apparently start August 29th and it will be effective for all messages, going or incoming to your phone.
Does this mean you won’t be texting anymore? I don’t think so! And what about everyone sending messages in? You get charged for those too. What this means is that you can get out of your contract now without paying the early termination fees. The SMS price increase is a material change of service which might affect you. So if you were desperately seeking a way out of T-Mobile, this might be it.
And if the increase doesn’t bother you at all, then disregard what I’ve just said. But you might be interested to add an SMS plan to your current voice plan just so you would get more SMS for the same price.
Wonder if people are going to be leaving T-Mobile due to this SMS thing to join other carriers this time of the year? I am not going to mention AT&T or Sprint since you are thinking about those two anyway.

I have T-mobile trying to stop my service with them only because I loss my hearing. They have nothing to offer me as far as a plan for just messaging. Yet they want to charge me the early termination fee. It’s unfair.
