After the quandary it had been facing over the past few months about the title for Danger’s newest device, T-Mobile has finally decided to simply call it Sidekick. That’s right, forget Gekko, 2008, and anything else you might have heard about what it was going to be called. But the name is the only thing that sounds plain here, as the new Sidekick has many improvements over the previous versions including user-customizable shells that can be obtained for $14.99 at sidekickshells.com, while the downgraded 2.6-inch WQVGA display might be a letdown for people used to the 3-incher on the Sidekick LX. Other features include:

  • 400 x 240 WQVGA display
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP
  • microSD card expansion
  • 2.6-inch display

The new Sidekick is available now for just $150 with a two-year contract on T-Mobile.
