T-Mobile, Nokia, and Shelton Jackson aka Spike Lee, worked in cooperation to create the first ever “user-generated flim”. It was presented 2 days ago on October 14, at the Nokia Plaza in LA, and it is also available online at www.nokiaproductions.com.

The tactic used to create this film is a mix of common people and video recordings made from Nokia cellphones. Afterwards, it was up to Spike Lee to make it a 5-star movie.

The public had to pick a media - text, music, video or images - and create content about birth, life, and death. More than 4 thousand pieces were submitted to the Nokia site, from April to September 2008, and the final result is pretty good.

Craig Coffey from Nokia, comments:

It’s another way that we continue to connect people through relevant and innovative experiences. Nokia technology enables anyone to create, collaborate and share in order to participate in something larger than themselves which helps to open a world of possibilities for groundbreaking collaboration in our communities.
