Man, nothing like slamming your competition to make your product look better. It would appear that Sprint and Verizon are lobbing bombs together as Sprint took a little bit of a shot at the iPhone.
Basically, it said that 3G is too slow, and if the Sprint Overdrive, a 3G and 4G router, is used, the speed is up to 10 times faster. So what are we trying to say, that the Overdrive is a necessary accessory for the iPhone? It sure sounds like it.
Of course, that 4G network isn’t as widespread as the ad would like you to think. Say, isn’t that what Verizon has been saying about AT&T?

We tested the iPhone 3GS with the Sprint Overdrive. We’re getting 45kbps download and 330kbps upload. On the other hand, on the MacBook Pro, we get 4580kbps download and 940kbps upload. If that’s typical, then Sprint’s claim of a 4G iPhone is suspect.
BTW, we tried tweaking the RTS and Fragmentation threshold but could not get any better download numbers on the iPhone 3GS — which is capable of 8500kpbs download and 7735kbps upload when using our WiFi connection to Comcast cable internet.
