Sprint Introduces the Mogul by HTC
Sprint introduces the new HTC Mogul smartphone, built of its predecessor the Sprint PCS Vision PPC-6700. The Mogul is the first CDMA device in the U.S. to run Windows Mobile 6 Professional Edition. Running Windows Mobile 6 users are provided with support for Microsoft Office Mobile including Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, Office Outlook Mobile, Internet Explorer Mobile, Windows Media Player Mobile, ActiveSync, Windows Live Services, and PDF Viewer. Also with Windows Mobile 6 and the Mogul's many other features, customers are able to work more efficiently and stay productive.
The updated device comes several enhancements including a 20% longer battery life, increased memory (256MB), a thumbwheel for easy one-hand operation, and a 2MP flash camera w/ auto-focus and camcorder capabilities. During the Mogul's launch the phone will support EV-DO Rev. 0 data speeds on the Sprint Mobile Boradband Network, but will be able to take advantage of faster EV-DO Rev. A data speeds via a free software upgrade. The smartphone will support On Demand and will also soon support the Sprint Music Store with an over-the-air upgrade mid-july. Additional features provided by the HTC Mogul are MicroSD expansion, Bluetooth Wireless Technology, and integrated WiFi 802.11b/g.
The HTC Mogul will be available this week online for $399.99 with a two-year service agreement. Sprint retail stores gets the HTC Mogul in July.
