It’s not just the Apple servers going down while people are trying to activate their new 3G iPhone. There must be something wrong with Sprint’s data servers too as far as Instinct owners are concerned.
Apparently more and more buyers have reported having problems with some data services. The Weather application didn’t refresh for more than 18 hours. Email problems and error messages have been also reported by various users.
And let’s not forget this weekend isn’t the perfect one for Sprint data guys to go messing up Sprint’s applications. There’s no point in convincing more people that the iPhone is the better choice is there? And if I am not mistaken, we witnessed a Sprint software update a few weeks ago. Didn’t that take care of most problems?

Sprint is having MAJOR data problems.I have been a Sprint customer since the digital network began. I signed up for a new 2 yr contract for this phone - got it yesterday afternoon - and 29hrs and AT LEAST a dozen Customer Service Calls later - The Data services STILL will not work. Phone and text fine - email, web, gps, tv….NOTHING. Sprint said it is not an isolated problem - Data servers are down…. and no Wi-Fi so you are stuck. PLEASE WAIT BEFORE BUYING THIS PHONE!!!

I have been a Sprint customer forever and I have never had a problem with my phones in the past dropping calls. But my Instinct drops calls like crazy! It’s very frustrating to say the least…I want my Centro back!
The same thing was happening to my phone and a technician from sprint did a re-trigger of the IODA and then I did update data profile from the phone and it fixed my problem. I do not know for how long as Sprint has admitted to me there are network email kinks in the new Istinct, however I love the phone so much that it is worth waiting for them to fix it. Remeber with any new item there are kinks. Remeber the Iphone had many kink in it’s original model.
Bought 2! 1 worked fine the other took time with to get web and tv services worked out with tech over phone. Sprint homepage sites and tv are great even youtube. Some regular websites often freeze up. Hope they can fix that or even better if operamini could release a touch version of their browser!
Is anyone having any problems with the bluetooth sound? I have the BlueAnt supertooth 3 and you can not hear a dang thing. The same device works perfectly with all my other cell phones. Also, the ringers are way to low in volume. I miss calls everyday while in my truck because I can not hear the phone ring. I tried the update, but the phone says there are no new updates. I was wondering if any of you were have simular issues?

The Instinct has a very serious design flaw. While the phone does any data (streaming, email check, news updates…) or anything that uses the data portion of the phone, anyone calling you during that transaction will be connected directly to voice mail. You will not get a call. You will miss all calls if you’re watching TV or listening to radio. In my opinion this is a very bad flaw.
My Instinct works perfectly. Every function works very well. And when I am doing any data transaction, even TV, my video is paused and I have an option to answer or dismiss the call. Upon ending the call, whatever I was doing resumes. So far, this phone works exactly as it is advertised and as it should.
I’m on my 3rd Instinct and it’s driving me crazy!!!!!! It locks up in between screens won’t hold bookmarks and erased all and I mean all 350+ phone numbers I had on it. And yes I used the moble sync to save my numbers. All I know is that I will not buy another instinct again.

Samsung has done it again, by creating a phone that is pure crap.
I’ve had my phone for two months and trying to download is impossible, i hate java i should of done a little more research. But now im stuck w/ this phone for 2 sad years!!! Don’t buy this phone you’ll be sorry
HI THERE THE DATA SERVER WHEN I BOUGHT MY INSTINCT THEY TOLD ME TOO WAIT 4 TOO 6 HOURS BEFORE USEING THE INTERNET SOO THE INTERNET ON CELLPHONES TAKE A WHILE THATS NORMAL I THINK BUT I USE MY SPRINT INSTINCT INTERNET TV GAMES GPS VOICE ACTIVASION LIKE ON STAR TREK COMUNICATORS TOO BECUASE HARD DRIVES ARE TOO SLOW I DONT LIKE PLAYING GAMES ON A COMPUTER X-BOX OR PS3 MY INSTINCT IS MORE FUN SOO IS NINTENDO WII NINDIINDO DS LITE SONY PSP BUT THE SPRINT INSTICT IS MOST FUN FOR GAMING
I work for sprint and have been trying insesintely for the last week to exaughst all resources available to me to make my instinct work. I used the online chat and got my MSL obviously we can not access our own accts.
Then tried every fix i new. I finally found the combonation. No matter how many times you have done the steps i am about to mention try again trust me i about traited my instinct for a mogul. LOL
Instinct Data Trouble Work Around:
(Recommended Chat w/ care through sprint.com)
Adv rep you data trouble w/ instinct no on demand, errors uncaught exception,errors 36868 and 49657.
Adv rep you have tried all the basic steps battery out, reprogram blah blah. Ask rep to cancel and resume your NAI
after NAI resumed ##MSL# reprogram
after reboot update data profile
then ##3282# & ##data# data RESTORE then enter MSL phone will reboot
Once phone back up again get to area with as much signal as possible
and perform
##RTN# & ##786# enter msl then reset to factory defaults phone will reset and try and reactivate itself
if u are in a good signal area it will reactivate quickly
Once your back to square one start opening apps that did not work before and u will find now they do and
will actually upgrade properly
Be sure to back up contacts before beginning any of the above proccess. This will work as long as you reactivate in an area
with good reception SPREAD THE WORD!

Instinct has got me frustrated no end — trying to get EMail going for 3 days, Tech, forget it. Latest, since I have Embarq, recommending that I go with another provider, like AOL, or Yahoo, et cetera. Anyone having similar problem? Thanks, A.
My Instinct phone pairs nicely with the aftermarket Pioneer head unit but I can’t get the Bluetooth audio to work.
I just received my new instinct and I absolutley love it.. I do not have any problems with the brower as some are saying.. I receive email as soon as a new one arrives.. There are no problems with text or dropped calls.. I recommend this phone!! I just love it!!
NOT JUST DATA PROBLEMS— POOR VOICE TOO
About two months my data began to slow down and voice began clipping and echoing on my 2 Instincts. I just received a follow-up call from Sprint. Sprint finally admits the problem with clipping and echo in Jacksonville is widespread based on the volume of complaints they have received locally. They also admit their technicians are unable to locate and fix the problem. They have told me they have no immediate plans to try resolve the issue. They will not credit my account for any loss of quality and they will not let me out of my contract without $400 in termination fees.
So, if you are thinking of signing on with Sprint, you might want to think again. Even with the 30 day trial, you’ll never know what level of service you will end up with. My problems did not appear until a couple of months into the contract.

Alright so after some research and some help from sprints new customer care employees heres the fix for your instinct!!! From your browser of your phone go to “http://www.handmark.com/downloads/2483/SamsungM800EX.jad” this is a direct link for the download. you can verify with customer care if you like but this IS THE FIX! jus follow it and after its done downloading and installing just open the apps and create a new account for the apps. Its simple and fast.

is anyone have a problem with the instinct losing battery power VERY QUICKLY!!???
my instinct works just fine. its just like a little computer. come on what are u guys complaing for it has tv !!! what more could u ask for. && about the phone losing power its bcuz it has so much things on it wat do u expect all u have 2 do is reduce the brightness of the phone to level 1 and your phone will be working for the whole day trust i would know.
The Instinct SUCKS. Problems in just about every application. Haven’t been able to check my email on my phone for about 4 days now. It does this all the time. Constantly says “Uncaught Exception” when I try and check the weather or use my Navigation system. Freezes up in the middle of texting or trying to delete messages. Using the internet takes forever to load, almost just not even worth the wait to finally get it up and running. And the camera quality is really not any good. Very disappointed in my purchase. Should have just taken the plunge and gotten the iphone. Would probably be much happier.
Okay so when I first got my instinct I LOVED IT and didn’t have any problems with it…that was in January or February…. now I am having major problems…my phone hasn’t been taking incoming calls at all….and my texts are about an hour late getting to me from other people. My phone also freezes up…now I don’t know if it is the phone or just Sprint… but I use my phone for work and this is just crazy!!! Oh and the apps are running very very slow… I know I should have gotten the blackberry or now I am skeptical about the PalmPre..
My Instinct is crap. This is my 3rd phone in 18 months. Getting apps was impossible on the first one. Freezing up on the next 2 phones. I have spent many hours on phone with Tech Support people that get the phone to work. Ya, the phone works for a couple of hours or days, then freezes up again. Can’t wait for contract to be over. They need to give a Instinct buyers, new upgraded phones for putting up with this crap.
SPRINT IS HORRIBLE. NEVER USE THEM IF YOU CAN AVOID THEM. THEIR SERVICE IN-STORE REPS ARE COMPLETELY UNTRAINED AND INEPT… WHAT OTHER INDUSTRY CAN THEY HOLD YOU HOSTAGE OVER THEIR MISTAKES AND HIJACK YOUR CALLS TO THEIR OWN FINANCIAL SERVICES WHEN IT IS THEIR PROBLEM? THEY SHOULD COMPENSATE FOR ALL THE DOWN TIME… EVERY OTHER COMPANY HAS TO, WHY SHOULDN’T SPRINT-NEXTEL.
THEIR PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OK… CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR INSTORE REPS
