Sprint Doesn’t Expect Lines for the Pre

By Chris - 06/04/2009 7:57:33 PM

For some weird reason Sprint seems ready for the Palm Pre’s launch. And when I say ready I mean Sprint doesn’t expect lines for the Pre. What happened folks? Isn’t the phone as hot as it has been described for almost six months now? Or does it mean that Sprint has plenty of Pres to go around?

Even Palm is telling people that they shouldn’t expect lines for the Pre. Mark Elliot, a Sprint spokesman, talks about the company’s strategy for the imminent launch:

[Success] is not about having a line out the door; it’s about being able to treat each customer and make sure they’re happy with their decision.

It looks like Sprint and Palm are trying to offer a different launch experience and it’s clear they don’t agree to the way Apple launches its iPhones. So what will Sprint do just in case there will be some lines? Send the people home?
