While all the other companies that create MP3 players try to make their product have a futuristic design, Sony is against that and goes for the vintage look that Walkmans had in the late 80’s. In this case we’re talking about their “new” MP3 players, the B-Series.
As you can see by the image, the B-Series look like something of the past, it doesn’t have any resemblance to an iPod or Creative player. The big size is probably caused by the USB interface, so you have the “Plug and Play” function and can easily transfer files to a PC or Mac.
In terms of sound quality, the reviewers at C-Net gave an “OK” score, which means it could be better, right? The player can have 1GB or 2GB of internal (flash) memory, FM radio, voice recording, and a tiny display.
The battery only takes about 1 hour to recharge and provides 16 hours of non-stop sound.
What about the price? $50 for the 1GB version, and if you add $10 ($60 total) just buy the 2GB model.
