I found it weird too. Not the PSP Phone which is a concept many fans have thought about for year and figured out it will be bound to happen at some point in the future. But the omission of Ericsson. This rumor doesn’t say that Sony Ericsson are going to build a PSP Phone. What’s the matter Sony? Don’t feel like sharing some of that PlayStation fame?

Well I’d buy a PSP phone in a heartbeat. Probably I would return it a day later if the phone isn’t as smart as I would expect it to be. I want 3G, a cool OS, WiFi and why not WiMax support, video and music playback, a decent camera, internet browsing and online action. Oh and I want it slick and slim. The schematics above suggest bigger dimensions than I actually had in mind.

These are things that Sony can’t really deliver. But Ericsson surely will. And it was time they offered a really competitive phone. Forget the mid ranged phones for a second and launch a dependable smartphone already.

The PSP Phone might be ready by Christmas 2009 but will let you know in advanced if that actually happens.
