Sony PSP users can now connect to T-Mobile Hotspots
Sony recently announced a new firmware upgrade, version 3.30, for the PSP PlayStation Portable system. The update now enables PSP users access to over 7,000 T-mobile hot spot locations, including starbucks, Borders, Hyatt Hotels, and many major airports across the US. to play compatible games online, surf the Web, and download podcasts.
For a limited time, a promotional offer allows six months of free WiFi network access to these hotspots. The trial period begins after the first initial log-in to the hotspot, who have the firmware update. After the trial period is over, T-Mobile will offer special subscription rates for PSP owners. To receive 6 months to the T-Mobile HotSpot service, users must access the Network by March 28, 2008
Additional firmware 3.30 upgrades include the ability to watch videos in a full resolution (720x480) and display support for thumbnails for video and RSS content. PSP system firmware updates can be downloaded directly from http://www.us.playstation.com/psp to a PSP system wirelessly via a Wi-Fi connection or from a PC via USB.
