Sony Playstation 3 Update 3.41 Causing Hard Drive Upgrade Woes?By Jeff Baker - 07/31/2010 2:59:22 PM |
One of the greatest features that the Playstation 3 has over the Xbox 360 is its ability to take hard drives that aren’t proprietary. This means you don’t have to shell out unheard of amounts of cash to Microsoft to buy one of their hard drivers that were specifically designed for the console. Instead, you can take to a website like Newegg and find yourself a hard drive with plenty of space for close to nothing.
Unfortunately, it seems that this has backfired on Sony with the recent release of their firmware update version 3.41 as user reports suggest that this update makes it almost impossible to install a new hard drive. Apparently, after installing anew hard drive and then updating to version 3.41, users have been left with a bricked console and sometimes even a corrupted drive.
Sony is sure to be working on a fix for this and as soon as more information is made known we’ll relay it to you.
