Besides the NV-U35 pocket GPS, Sony has plans to launch a new PND – personal navigation device – which is codenamed Sony NV-U76V and is made for the Chinese market.
Specification-wise the Sony NV-U76V boasts a 4.8-inch monitor that provides a resolution of 480×272 pixels, an internal memory of 8GB, and a 1Seg TV Tuner so you can easily watch TV and even record video content. One of the good features is the use of a new technology named “Position Plus GT” which makes it easier and faster to get a GPS location/coverage. Other usual details include support for video and audio playback, and a slot for memory stick duo cards.
The Sony NV-U76V Personal Navigation Device costs approximately $625.
