Sony k205a coming to USA

Americans will have a new low-end cellphone as Sony Ericsson announced the availability of the K205a handset in the states. Based on the pictures posted at the FCC, the phone will be called the K205a. This confirms the rumors milling about that ony Ericsson is really trying to leave a dent in the US market with budget models such as this. So far, consumers will need to wait for the official announcement from Sony Ericsson.

The K205a is an entry-level bar phone with dual-band GSM 850/1900 radios. It offers a pared-down feature set, such as SMS, MMS, and browsing. It has an internal antenna and digital camera. Pictures and other files can be shared via Infrared. It uses the standard Sony Ericsson charge/accessory port for things such as headsets. It supports bands found in the Americas and is compatible with several U.S networks, but no carrier has announced plans to sell this device.
