Sony introduces line-up of Compact Flash Cards

sony_CFcards.jpgSony has revealed more details regarding its announcement to jump into the CompactFlash market. Sony’s first CompactFlash product line-up will be targeted will include a selection of cards ranging at a 66x transfer speed in capacities if 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB. Sony will also produce two higher end cards targeted towards the ambitious amateur and semi-professional photographer which feature 2GB and 4GB capacities that support up to 133x transfer speeds.

A card with a 4GB capacity will be able to store roughly 1500 JPEG photos in standard image settings with a 10 MP resolution. These new Sony CompactFlash cards are tough and are able to operate in extreme working conditions. The cards will be available in the European market starting May 2007.
