24 Sep 08 Sony Ericsson MBW-200 Bluetooth watches for the ladies

Riding on the success(?) of the previous MBW-150 Bluetooth watch, Sony Ericsson has announced the next iteration of watches for ladies that not only show the time in style but add a bit of tech to make life more interesting/easier. The MBW-200 collection consists of three different designs called Sparkling Allure, Contemporary Elegance, and Evening Classic Editions, each modeled by three of the most beautiful women on a tennis court. All the three variations have the following features:

  • Reject or mute call
  • Vibrates on new SMS/MMS – and an out of range warning – when 10 m away from your phone
  • Discreet yet clear caller ID – OLED display
  • Play, pause, stop or skip a track on your phone’s music player
  • Quartz movements for exact time keeping – both digital and analogue
  • Auto pairing™ – easier to connect the watch to your phone
  • Water resistant up to 3 ATM
  • Allergy safe stainless steel
  • Mineral crystal scratch resistant face with antiglare coating

There’s no info on pricing yet, but with a release date somewhere in Q4 of 2008, we won’t have to wait for long.

I have a SONY ERICSSON MBW 100, purchased in Germany, whose OLED display got spoilt, after leaving it uncharged for a month. The SONY authorised service centers in INDIA had never heard of a watch like this, after spending four months in India, it was sent to DUBAI, none of the service centers in Dubai had heard of this watch as well, my friend in Dubai (he works for SONY CORPORATION) got automated replies to his enquires, none of the authorised service centers-AXIOM, Dubai (Sh. Zayed Road or Call Center) or Jumbo Service Center in Rashidiya in Dubai knew what to do about the dead wrist watch, all the service I got from SONYERICSSON were automated replies to my queries by E Mail, under case ID 72629618, its more than a year & a half since…that’s it. In case any of your are planning to buy a blue tooth watch- and it gets spolit God Help You… cause SONYERICSSON will not. I had hardly used the wrist watch for about four months. So if you are planning to let $400 go down the drain you are welcome.
