Sony Ericsson Lays Off 450 People at Triangle Park

sony-ericsson-logo_45_1179316991 Marking a blow for the company’s operations, Sony Ericsson has announced that it will lay off 450 workers from its Research Triangle Park location, the headquarters for it sNorth American operations.

It was revealed to the employees in a mandatory all-staff meeting at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham.

The layoffs are part of company-wide changes, Sony Ericsson’s head of global communications and PR, Aldo Ligouri, revealed.

“This is our map of how we see things moving forward,” Ligouri said.

Sony Ericsson has been struggling recently, with low demand for high-end phones and delayed products hurting profits.
