Sony Developing New Battery Concept

|

sonyBattery.jpg
Sony is working hard for developing a viable new battery to mount on their cell phone line. Small Fuel Cells 2008, which took place from April 30 to May 2, 2008, in Atlanta was the perfect place to show off their new 50 x 30mm fuel system.

This new battery is based on methanol which it uses as fuel. It's an actual active fuel-cell system which will control the actual fuel supply with a pump. The power output is supplemented by a Li-polymer secondary battery and it can reach 3W if needed. Using this type of battery will get you up to 14 hours of continuous cell phone video.

Wonder what the competition is doing battery-wise. I always thought Nokia batteries rule but I'd try out one of this Sony babies when they will come out!
