Sony has unveiled their new Cybershot DSC-TX1 and WX1 digital cameras, complete with their very own Exmor R high-sensitivity CMOS sensors.
Both models use Carl Zeiss lenses, and can capture continuous burst shooting at 10 frames per second and can capture 30 frames per second high-definition video. The Sony Cyber-shot WX1 is a 10.2 mega-pixel model with 5x optical zoom and 2.7 inch LCD screen, while the TX1 comes short with 4x optical zoom.
Both models will be available this September. The TX1 will retail for $380, and the WX1 for a little cheaper at $350.

I looked at the samples, image quality still sucks. Why do they keep throwing a mega resolution image into a micro tiny sensor? My old camera still shoots a much better image.
I truly believe they can use a bigger sensor….at $600+ price.
…and I’m not gonna buy that
I don’t think we should try to compare image quality of point-n-shoot camera with DSLR or film camera, it’s on a different category. What we want here is the convenient of being able to take it everywhere and being able to shoot thousands of pictures with no additional cost (on film).
