What makes a company on the auto industry like Land Rover, to make a push on the big market of handsets? How about two rugged cellphones that demonstrate the spirit of Land Rover? That’s probably what they were thinking when talking to Sonim Technologies in order to manufacture the devices.

Anyhow, the 2 upcoming cellphones will be entitled S1 and S2 G4, and have a release date set to 2Q of 2009. What makes the cellphones special is the ability of withstanding thermal shocks, being water resistant, capable of supporting humidity, and even drops from 1.6meters to the ground.
