Skype pulled from Ovi storeBy Jeff Baker - 03/06/2010 2:05:54 PM |

Well that didn’t take long — Just two days after announcing that a free Skype application was made available for the Symbian powered Nokia handsets, it has been pulled from the US Ovi store. Why? Well, according to Skype’s Sravanthi Argawal:
“Skype has made a decision in the United States to not promote the Skype for Symbian app through the Ovi Store. We did this so that we could drive more attention to the recently announced Skype and Verizon Wireless agreement. This was a marketing decision — plain and simple. Skype users in the U.S can still download Symbian by going directly to Skype.com.”
So, it’s Verizon Wireless’ fault that Skype was pulled from the Ovi store? Who knows, but at least we can still get it at Skype.com. It seems like more and more companies are focusing on making money rather than making the customer happy.
