Skype hits North American App StoreBy Jeff Baker - 03/31/2009 9:12:10 AM |

It’s official, the popular VoIP software Skype has hit North American App Stores everywhere, just one day after it was released in Japan.
After playing with the interface for a while I can vouch for its useability and must say, it’s every Skype using iPhone owner’s dream come true. Although, calling over 3G is limited, the application says due to data restrictions it isn’t supported. Oh well, word has it this feature will make its way into iPhone OS 3.0 when it hits this June. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
For those of you who don’t know what this means, Skype allows users to make calls to other Skype users using nothing more than an internet connection. No monthly charge, no pay-per-minute, no nothing. Then again, you could buy credit allows you to call normal telephone numbers, but what’s the fun in that?
