The SciPhone can initially pass for an iPhone, especially if you don’t look at it up and close. Apparently the i68 has taken its design from the iPhone and could be a potential substitute just in case you are looking for something similar.
The Cect HiPhone is the most popular iPhone clone brand right now but a pretender has just arrived that might be able to successfully challenge its dominance. For one thing, the SciPhone model i68 is pretty damn close hardware-wise to what the iPhone looks like.
Specs of the Sciphone (pronounced Sky Phone) include a quadband GSM connectivity, 3.2-inch touch screen with both finger and stylus input, 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth (!!), Fm tuner and a G-Sensor for flick navigation. The demo video below shows only a changing of wallpapers when the Sciphone is flicked but it should also be able to change track by flicking.

My hubbie bought the sciphone i68 for me off of ebay. I told him I wanted an iphone. It’s okay, but i keep getting this crazy text from the number 10476000000 and it says n:m=1=1. What the heck does that mean and how do I make it stop? And not to mention all of my games are chinese. It looks nice, but I am starting to hate it.
I bought this Sciphone 3G and eventhought its not really what I have expected I kinda like it. Heres the glitz, I wanted to be able to watch my fave movies in it so I bought an 8G external memory to put in the movies. after I have finished gathering them up in my video(s) folder I tried to watch them thru its internal video player and got this message ” file is not supportted” in short it cannot be played. I got all the files changed to an .AVI file but still can’t watch them thru my phone… can somebody help me with this problem? and if its possible, detailed the step by step procedure in solving this problem.. c”, )
I recently got a Sciphone i68+ myself and it drives me crazy that the time wont change from military. There seems to also be a glitch in the alarm clock, it only works sometimes and once it even went off 4 hours after it was susposed to. That is a pretty big issue since I use my cell phone to get up for work. Overall it is a nice looking phone but I really don’t think it is that great, between the translation and the apps being in different folders, I find it confusing.
I am very disappointed with this phone. I bought it off ebay for about 100 bucks, not alot, but I would expect better quality, and at least an owners manual! I can get the camera and fm radio to work, but that is about all. Trying to download music, I had problems with the phone not accepting the files (even with 8 gb). Save your money for a better phone!
if i would have seen this before i would have not got this phone its a waste for money. it wouldnt even show my contacts noame wen thay call it would show there number waste of money should have never bought the phone nothing like that i phone picture quality sucks, its getting slower day-by-day, and touch screen gets weaker. im
In your old phone you must have email set up. That message comes from an email notification. Basically go on your old phone and take the email notification off and that should solve it!

To add music you have to save it on your computer. I saved it as mp3 and that worked. Then sync it with windows media. Go to ringtones on the phone and if you notice at the end it will say empty. click on it and get it from memory card that’s where the ring tone usually saves to.

Not all SciPhone i68 series are the same. The original, and the best, are made by Shenzhen Bluelans, who host the mysciphone.com website.
The i68 is not quite the same as the iPhone. At only $100, it is unlocked and can be used on a most GSM networks. It also has dual SIMs and Java. How cool is that?

i just purchased a sciphone. very happy so far. the only thing is i have downloaded all my music but can only play it through the file manager. is there anyway i can tfer it to the audio playlist? when i went to download it my computer said i needed the software for the audio playlist is this available anywhere?
I am literate to electronics, built my first computer in 1979 from Heathkit. Built and tested Sidewinder and Sparrow missiles for the military. But this Sciphone has offered me a challenge to my electronic and computer background and knowledge. I have itunes and the Sciphone doesn’t recognize the music downloads. I believe they have to be converted to MP3 from WMA, and from WMV to MP4. Is there a way to do this without paying for a program to due this. Most conversions programs cost around $40. Help Please, 007 needs your assistance.

You need to download a video converter. Search in Google, and there is a shareware one which converts videos into mobile compatible .mp4’s. After that you can watch the video.
My boyfriend bought the SCIPhone and is having problems connecting to the internet. Understand that the phone is not 3G compatible, but he does have the internet through TMobile. Has anyone else expereinced this problem? He’s also unable to adjust the volume.

My sciphone i9+++ works well I am very happy BUT is there a software that I can use to create my play lists?
and even my phone contacts. (not so fussy about contact list but would be nice. A play list is important to me.)
I have lots of songs and at the moment I only know one way to load it into the player and that is to add to the play list individually! most people have more than a handful of songs. I have about 50 and I just can’t be bothered to load these by hand individuallly. Then if I want to change it it is even worst.

i order one also and got it in..what i dont understand is how are we sappose to text on this phone when the letters or very small and hard to touch…i feel like the text messaging is impossible and alot of other thhings arent exactly how yall show them either
i ordered the sci phone and had to get tmobile to install all the features for my mms text and the internet. Although my internet is saying unscripted page, i cancelled the internet. I am disappointed cause i wanted a phone i could download music on and send it to my friends and also use it as ringtones. This phone doesn’t have those features which are very disappointing!!! Even with my 8g memory card it won’t let you send music or store them to your phone for ringtones. Very disappointed.

seem like alot of you buying your phones off ebay, Have the same problem. Instead you should look at something like that on craiglist.So you will be dealing loaclly meet in person check all these things before you buy it. I did and mine works exactly like a iphone.Never buy anything off of ebay there is always a flaw…..always.

You need to convert movies to 3gp format in the 176x** size. I have about 30 movies on my i68+ and they all play fine with decent quality. They convert to between 150 and 300 mb. They will also play if you convert them to mp4 in the smallest conversion size possible.
I68+ STUCK ON CHINESE WEB BROWSER!! CHANGED E-BOOK OPTIONS AND LANGUAGE ON THE PHONE. ENTERED SOME ENGLISH PIN CODE AND INSTALLED OPREA MINI WHICH IS IN CHINESE ALSO! CAN THIS BE FIXED OR IS THE PHONE JUST A WAY TO RIP US OFF?

i got mine to work finally. i had to download a tool to change my imei to match the phone here is a web address http://www.mysciphone.com/download.asp . that still didnt fix it but got me close i still cudnt call untill i found in the settings menu to lock your sim1 or sim2. lock which ever you r using and it will ask you for a simm pass code mine for tmobile was 1234 hope this helps it did for me
Just received my ScIphone I68+ today. Installed my AT&T sim card and with help from AT&T service tech, got the phone service working. Having owned the Apple IPhone I must say this is a really cheap knockoff.
Set the phone up to my liking, works pretty decent. My biggest complaint is the texting part. If your a heavy texter like I am, don’t buy this phone!!! Its qwerty board keys are way too small and on mine you have to touch in between the keys to get it to work, needless to say that any character on the sides wont work at all.
Unfortunately, I am willing to pay the full price for an Apple IPhone, my other one got destroyed by a pissed off chik. AT&T is a great network provider and is willing to give me a discount on the price of a new phone. They will sell me the 3G for $297 to replace my other one.
Once an IPhone user - always an IPhone user!! Apple rocks! It was worth the gamble to buy this phone off of Ebay for $74. I’ll keep it around for a back up.

hey, i have the sciphone I68+ and i have a few problems, first, i don’t know how to play the radio. it always says, “please plug in headphones” but there is no place to plug them in!! how do i play it out loud? second, on the clock, it always says “am” when its supposed to say “pm” i don’t know how to change it!! third im wondering if i can get any apps on it, like iphone apps. and last but not least how do i zoom on the camera? thank you sooo much for any answers!!

I bought a sciphone( it says sciphone i68 on the default name in bluetooth, but on the back cover it has the apple logo and underneath that it says PHOTO VIEWER and when I remove the battery it says I9+)and it is working OK. I managed to connect to internet at first try( T-mobile and Cosmofon in Macedonia).
The integrated browser is slow , i tried opera mini but everytime i start the app it installs all over again. I found an java app called BOLT Lite and is amazinglu fast browser I recomend to all. So if anyone have problems connecting mail me maby I can help : jcoacro@yahoo.com

I just got the SciPhone i68 but i cant get onto it because it keeps saying imput phone lock code what do i do?
i recently bought this sciphone and i am getting along with it fine. but 1 question if anyone knows the answer. I have all my contacts in the phonebook but when most people text or call only the number comes up not the contacts name so recieving text is difficult as i dont know who they are from! i have tried saving all contacts to both sim and phone memory but this doesnt make any difference. Some of the contacts are showing names but the majority arn’t anyone have the answer please!
i cant figure out how to make the keys bigger while texting so i always have to use the stylus pen and it makes me mad because it takes so long to text. Anyone help with making keys bigger?
if you want your phone to read the contacts make sure when you save the number put the number 1 in front at all times for example instead of putting tom 978-555-1234 you should put tom 1-978-555-1234 hope that helps
The most disappointing thing to have to wait for in the mail is the Sciphone. Got this thing as a gift and havent been able to use it fully functional one day. The touch screen REQUIRES either the stylus or the tip of your fingernail; your finger alone wont get it. Texting, you gotta go through NUMEROUS screens to send ONE message. And, who’s bright idea was it to make the purchaser setup the MMS settings? That itself took two days, and it STILL doesnt work! Three games on the phone, two in Chinese only, and the one that isnt, cheats you horribly! Graphics are not high quality for a phone that is supposed to be an iPhone clone. Picture quality is CRAP! The only good things I can say about this phone is that, it has good sound quality when using it as a phone, and the shake features and radio work well, other than that, my Nokia N75 flip phone is a FAR SUPERIOR phone. Dont get suckered into getting the Sciphone, you will miss your $100.
i have the same problem as Leane where i get msgs and the number comes up but not a name and when i get calls the name comes up. I tried to put the 1 in front of it, it doesnt work but if you put your country code in it so i live in australia so i have to put 6 in front of the number. but that only works for msging when ppl ring it now comes up the number not the name so it’s reversed. please tell me there is an easier way other then having 2 numbers for the one contact

It’s not all bad news thou. there are what, 70 odd posts here and one of these phones is being sold every few minutes worldwide. it is a gamble so live with the outcome. I’m going to recomend you buy a shock case though, just like the i phone they’re terribly sensitive to bumps and jolts.
second up, i finally got linux to run so now i have a Mini Pc which i have in sync with my Kawasaki Alarm system and keyless remote. i can start my bike from anywhere in the world with the push of few buttons. next project is my garage security system.

Chauntelle, in Australia you need to put a +61 in front of mobile numbers and drop the 0…
For example, if the number was 0400 000 000, you would store it as +61400 000 000
This is the way numbers come up at the bottom of messages that are sent to you.

I am amazed to read sooo… many negative comments from so called phone smart punters. We have two of these phones in our family, purchased them on eBay and both work well. If people would read the instructions first before diving head first into operating their new toy most of their issues would be solved. My 14 year old daughter set them up without issues or problems. I am very pleased with my purchases and they certainly present good value for money.
Hurry slowly when setting up and treat it like a sophisticated electronic item it is!!

To yaal who hate this phone and wanna get alteast some money back do this.
If you are in the period of 3 months or less since purchase .. buy Squaretrade warranty on the phone.. then after 90 days since purchase you can call em up and say any one of those things that is bad with the phone, but make it sounds like its broke. (ie touch screen works bad, turns off by it self, doesnt recognize numbers, ect) send the phone to them (free of charge maling) and get fully reimburst. insurance cost like 15-20$. So thas all youll be loosing !

Sorry, but gotta disagree with you. When I got this phone, it came with a small setup manual, went through that with no problem. The probems arose when trying to do much of anything else, like MMS settings. I had to go through Google to find a site that had the actual settings, and those dont even work. Well, they kinda work, but the phone charges me almost $1 to try and send a picture message, and even then it wont send the file…and I have unlimited text! I have a Nokia 5800 now, and it is a far superior phone for a touchscreen phone. The Sciphone’s touchscreen barely responds to the stylus. Its sad that the only thing I could use this phone for, is the one game it has on there thats not in Chinese.

I can’t get my sciphone i68 to charge. The charging batt pops up for a split second and then goes away but won’t charge enough to turn on. Any help? Tried moving the cable, proping it up, wall charger and usb but just won’t go.

Did your phone come with the external battery charging dock and extra battery? You can charge it one of two ways. Connect the charging dock to your wall socket with the USB connector attached to the dock, and the other end to the phone. It should start charging that way. Or, the best way that I’ve found to charge it, if you have two batteries, is to put one battery on the charging dock and then interchange it with the dead battery. You cant charge the Sciphone via USB, unless you hook the USB cable to the charging dock and charge it the old fashioned way. Kinda backwards, seeing as how it’s a USB cable. That was another negative for this phone.

as far as the lock on/off slide not working at all… you have to calibrate the stylis by removing the battery then put it back in, power on the unit, press the guide button on the front, use your finger to select settings(won’t be right on the icon, of to the right and down a little) then select calibrate and go through the process. should fix the prob

I bought a new 168+ from Ebay that had 2 dud batteries that held their charge for 10 mins and then died. I contacted the seller and was told to send to china and they would fix it. 5 or 6 weeks later it returned but now though the batteries were good and stayed charged the phone will not recognise either sim card and says invalid sim on both . This phone is poorly made and the fact that so many people are on here with problems just highlights the fact that its a steaming pile of you know what!

my sciphone i68+ wont play the sound on videos, music, recordings or even in phone calls ? i tried using a bluetooth headset and it allowed me to hear phone calls but music and video sounds etc still wiont work
i think something is wrong with the set up ? if anyone knows how to fix this i will be so greatful !

got my phone yesterday it is a bag of knackers internet wont load and mms think i have one good use for it though as a door stop another great idea for these phones are they are ideal if you are out in a pub and the table is wonky use one under the wonky leg to stabelize DONT BUY A SHITEPHONE i68

Bought the ’shi’ phone last week, and have found it to be absolutely dispicable. CANNOT load the MMS or GPRS settings onto this. I did find one use for it tho fortunately, i found i could give it to the dog as a chew toy, after all, i only threw 80GBP against the wall.
Unfortunately, after many attempts to input the settings, i decided it was not to be, and introduced the said ’shi’ phone to a brick wall at about 35mph, it is now incorparated as a feature for me to see on my way out as a reminder never to spend my money on shite ever again.
Love the sci phone, simmy, rimmy and timmy love it too, ring my local chinese takeaway, and it automatically makes my orders for me. I find if i read the chinese instructions, i get no.42, no.115 and no.63 from the menu (crispy aromatic duck, chicken fried lice and egg chow mein)
Only problem tho is the 80 voucher price tag, as now i have spent this, simmy is knacker shacked to rimmy, and i cannot afford to buy a replacement key to unfasten the pair.
Timmy does get slightly jealous at this prospect tho, so i give him the sciphone to scratch his worm infested bottom on.

Touchscreen lasted 4 months. I had to keep pressure on the left lower corner of the phone for the screen to respond. Scophone warranty: pay the repair and the shipping. Sounds good doesnt it.
A note on the positive they respond to emails pretty quick. Answer doesn´t help but it is a good note though.
Bad quality and no real warranty not a good deals. Better try refurbish from known brand.
I have a solution for all of your problems, Just get a real iPhone!! the cheap knock offs are always crap.. The 3g is fairly cheap now @ $99 why spend only $10 less for a piece of junk.
Can you get the landscape keyboard while using the sms messaging? And if so how?
i got the sciphone and for some reason i cant recieve picture messages it says something about not having a GPRS?? how will i get that to work. im getting really frustrated!

Congratulations you all got ripped off on a shitty phone because you wanted to be “cool” and have an iPhone. The simple fact that it’s not made by Apple tells you that it will not function anything like a real iPhone. Did you honestly think you would be able to go to the app store and buy all your favorite apps like “pull my finger” , “Hair Clinic” or “FatBurner2k”? Did you think you would finally have a working GPS or a touch screen that would work longer than a week? I don’t even own an iPhone, but I heard about this thing and thought “too good to be true.” This thing is made to LOOK LIKE the iPhone, that’s it. It’s the same as buying a Rolex in China for $10. Looks like you wasted your money again on a cheap gimmick.

this phone absolutly sucks. I have had it for 2 weeks and it keeps disconnecting my calls on me constantly. what a piece of crap. i got it as a gift so cant really complain but its not worth it do not buy it!
lots of you think the phone is crap. for wat you payed for it wat you expect. for the price its a bargain. you gotta understand it has chinese technology and hasnt been americanized. get use to the phone and find the proper settings before making a honest comment. in my opinion iphone are great but over priced your paying for the name. this clone aint bad but not all that.i stick to iphone but for ppl who cant afford the real deal this is not a bad alternative.
i used the pen calibration feature to enhance the pen usage on my phone and ever since then the screen became completely unsensitive to touch. i have been unable to make or recieve calls neither can i send text messages, could you please help with troubleshooting tips. thanks
Ok, I got the Sci-phone and I accidentally cracked the screen and none of the touch screen works. Is there any way that i can get the touch screen fixed? If so, about how much would it cost me?

Also does anyone know how to get and put applications onto the handset?

Just bought one of these phone and am trying to use it on Bluetooth through my Handsfree unit in my car. I can get it to Bond and work OK, but when i leave the car and return it does not pick the phone up automaticly. Anyone any ideas on settings please.
I bought this phone last year.Used it for 2 weeks after charger broke.Since then Ive bought new chargers.But phone wont s@witch back on.

the screen stopped working… then the cheap glue on the sides started disappearing. so i use gorilla glue.it looks normal then when i cant unlock i realize the whole right half is unresponsive…then i rip off the plastic touch screen… since the phone doesnt work anymore im done with this bs
i got a sciphone and right after that my screen broke. does anybody know where i can get it fixed?????? please…….. its driving me crazy! i barely got to use it, so as of right now i HATE the sciphone. waiste of money!!!!
if your phone doesn’t allo u to send or recieve MMS, call your provider. I have tmobile and they walked me thru the simple changes with no problem. Now I can get and send pics and sounds and vids.

You have got to be careful i68’s you buy. There are alot of copied copies now and it looks like anyone in china is having a go building them. The dearer the better. Always check the companies background through google if you can.
Can someone please tell me how to fix the time on this phone. When it’s am it says pm I can’t find the PM or AM option on this phone. Also I can’t get my text to show up as my contact names just there numbers and it’s a pain because I have alot of clients that text me all day with there reports. I’m almost up for an upgrade on my phone so I’m Deff getting the Apple Iphone. This is just a temp.
xmas is coming and it theres someone you really hate give them an sciphone.. i have never been so frustrated in my life .. its driving me xxxxxxg mad !! i would have to spend my life on this site to understand the thing. i didnt expect a lot but this is annoying the hell out of me….
