Sanyo SCP 3810 Cell Phone Review–Substantial SanyoBy Steve Anderson - 06/09/2010 12:01:43 AM |
I really don’t remember the last time I actually reviewed a cell phone from Sanyo, folks–frankly I don’t remember the last time I actually SAW a cell phone from Sanyo. But you’ve got to hand it to the crew out at Sprint: they really bring in the most eclectic offerings. And today, we’re talking about the Sanyo SCP 3810, a solid, substantial Sanyo that makes me glad Sprint stocks them.
The Sanyo SCP 3810 is a candy bar style cell phone with Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, mobile web, mobile email, text and instant messenging systems, speakerphone, a three hundred contact phone book that offers a full suite of contact options, alarm clock, calendar, calculator, stopwatch, world clock, voice recorder, the Sprint-exclusive Family Locater service (that lets you track your family’s cell phones via each cell phone, a great plus for nervous parents just letting their kids out of their sight), a 1.3 megapixel camera, and a battery that yields six hours of talk time on a single charge.
Simple is the order of the day with this one–simple and substantial. There aren’t a whole lot of features here, but that just means that the fewer features still available are much more front-and-center, and thus, the learning curve drops through the floor. And when I say “substantial”, I mean as in heft and depth. It’s a fairly bulky phone but it doesn’t feel out of place–it almost provides a sense of comfort through a feel of resilience.
So if you’re looking for a simple Sprint phone, then the Sanyo SCP 3810 will be exactly what you want.
The Good
Low learning curve
Plenty of standard features
The Bad
Lots of missing features
Lower end equipment
Score 7 / 10
