SanDisk, the leader in storage solutions, has announced a slew of memory cards for our cell phones on its new Mobile Ultra line. Covering all bases, SanDisk will be releasing microSD, microSDHC, Memory Stick Micro (M2) varieties in 2, 4, and 8GB versions. If you think what’s so different about this compared to the cards already available on the market from SanDisk and others, then you might want to consider the Mobile Ultra line’s accelerated transfer rates and fast side-loading speeds on cell phones. Now, how many times were you stuck without a memory card reader to transfer your favorite photos or video? Well, SanDisk has conveniently included a MobileMate Micro Reader just for those times, which can be plugged into any USB 2.0 port.
Here’s what Michael Romero, VP of SanDisk Mobile Retail Business, had to say:
SanDisk’s new Mobile Ultra line will make consumers’ digital lifestyle more manageable by offering them greater ability to quickly transfer photos, maps, music, videos, games and other large file size content wherever they go. These cards are truly the most convenient way for people to store, move and play content using their mobile phones, so we’re excited to introduce this high-performance, premium product to market to meet this need and growing demand.
The SanDisk Mobile Ultra range will be available in June retailing for $34.99 to $129.99 depending on the type and the storage capacity. Not much for that extra bit of space if you ask me.
