Samsung’s TouchWiz UI Makes Its Way To Nexus OneBy Jeff Baker - 07/24/2010 1:40:40 PM |
One of the greatest things about Android is the fact that it is open source. This means that pretty much whoever they want can develop software for the platform in addition to tweak the platform however they want, as long as it isn’t illegal. One such way hardware manufacturers tweak the software is by putting a sort of skin on top of Android, making it more unique to their devices. For instnace, we’ve seen the HTC Sense UI on devices like the EVO 4G and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on devices like the Galaxy S.
Today, however, a hacker has managed to port Samsung’s TouchWiz UI over to the Google Nexus One – a device that otherwise runs a completely stock version of Android. What’s even more amazing about this is the fact that he has managed to do it on a completely unrooted device which means anyone with a bit of guts and know how should be able to do it.
