I always like to check out an eco-friendly device once in a while. If last week we were making fun of popcorn made with cell phones, today we’re telling you how Samsung is going to make a phone out of corn. How’s that for an interesting idea?
The environment friendly device, the SCH-W510 will be made out of cornflour and we might have it done by the end of the month. The W510 will use natural dissolved bio-plastic out of corn starch for the battery cover and other parts. Environment friendly materials like anti-bacterial surface coatings will be also used. Everything inside this cell phone will be made out of materials that respect RoHS standards or the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive. That doesn’t tell me that much but congrats to Samsung on their efforts made so far.
I’d like to know what this W510 made out of corn will be capable of. I’d also like to know how many people a W510 would feed if the all the corn would be used for food products.
