UMA technology, which allows one to switch seamlessly between WiFi and GSM networks, sounded pretty cool when it was launched nearly two years ago (and it still does now). However, it never really took off and only a few carriers actually support the technology. Orange France is one of the few that suport UMA technology, and they do so under the brand “unik”.

Today, Orange France has a new UMA phone to added to their line-up - the Samsung SGH-P180. The 2.5G phone has built in WiFi connectivity that can easily switch from GSM to WiFi networks, even if you’re talking on the phone. It has a nice clamshell design, an average specs.
