Samsung Nudges Past Motorola, Now #2 Behind Nokia

Sounding more trouble for Motorola, Samsung has nudged past the US manufacturer to pick up a coveted #2 position in the cell phone biz. Sure, it's not a large margin (number crunching puts it at 37.4 million handsets for Samsung version 35-36 mil projected by Motorola).

Samsung seems to be especially making progress in emerging markets, while Motorola is foreseeing an unfavorable result this year. Compared to last year, Samsung's unit volume has increased by 50%.
