Samsung Messager for MetroPCS

Apart from the slide-out QWERTY keypad, the Samsung Messager, or the SCH-r450, is pretty much any other mid-ender that has been released in the past two years. Along with its 2.1-inch 262k color display, the Messager has a 1.3 megapixel camera for at least some kind of imaging satisfaction with a microSD slot for up to 2GB of storage, which might come in useful for all the songs you want to play on its music player. SMS, MMS, and instant messaging should be a breeze though, on the full QWERTY keypad and stereo Bluetooth support provides the only wireless outlet for the Messager. The SCH-r450 is available now from MetroPCS for $199.

I fell in love with this phone the first time i saw it. Can anyone tell if this is a good phone to buy? Because if I’m going pay 200 bucks it better be worth it!!!!
i bought this phone yesterday. the only complaints i have about it is probably that the AIM buddy list only supports 30 people and that’s bad for me since i have about 200 on mine. also when you text and reach the 160 character limit it makes you stop. other than that this phone is great. nice screen, nice mp3 player, the keyboard makes texting pretty easy.
Question, they say you can do e-mail on it. Can you do hotmail/yahoo/gmail on it? Also, how’s the web browser? I test browsers by seeing if it can handle an animated gif by going to m.wund.com, typing in a zip code and then clicking on “Animated Radar”. Some phones animate this and some don’t. Does this phone animate gifs? I want to use this phone, if I buy it, for doing e-mail on the go and to check weather radar.

We have 5 of the samsung messengers all reboot at random. it is our opinion that the issues is caused by flaws in the firmware.

I am about to get this phone and i am wondering, does the mp3 player work with itunes?
its ok but u cant download music u only down load ringtones from mixer.com da mp3 doesnt work its a waste of 200 dont waste ya money
The MP3 player works just fine, you have to format your memory card first, by hitting OK, then 9, then 6, then 3, and then 6 again. Then when you hook it up to your computer, put your music in the My_Music folder.
But that will also delete everything on your memory card, so be careful.

I bought the R560 messager for my birthday and i used it for 2 weeks and started having issues with it.
1. phone cuts off when i tried to text often.
2. ringtones that i downloaded from mixer and my itunes plays very low so i can’t use them.
3. alarm works sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t work at all, dont depend on it to wake you up.
I took the phone back to the store and they gave me another one and it does the exact same thing. and i was told to bring it back within 30 days if i am having problems so i will be returning the phone and getting something different. The bad out weighs the good. there are a lot of good things about the phone also.
