Samsung Mobile and T-Mobile USA have announced a new Smart Phone, the ‘Samsung Memoir.’ The full touch-screen mobile phone comes equipped with an 8-megapixel camera and premium multimedia features. The ‘Memoir,’ is designed to look and feel like a customer’s current point-and-shoot digital camera. The built-in 8-megapixel camera has a Xenon flash, 16x digital zoom and five shooting modes, including a feature that enables users to capture videos from their phone. Samsung’s new photo widget will enable customers to post images taken with the ‘Memoir’ directly to their favorite online photo-sharing sources.
“With the 8-megapixel Samsung Memoir, T-Mobile customers can capture and share little slices of life in all their vibrant brilliance,” said Denny Marie Post, Chief Marketing Officer, T-Mobile USA. The Memoir’s full-touch virtual QWERTY keypad and multiple messaging capabilities, including text, multimedia messaging, instant messaging and e-mail, make staying connected quick and easy while on the go. ’The Memoir’ will be available exclusively through T-Mobile.

yeah the gps is real good this time, the web browser is updated, it shows images on web pages more clearer than the behold, i didn’t even have the thought of hacking the browser, thats how good it is. the camera is just pure awesome, high qaulity pics and vids…….new widget icons i love the weather widget which downloads the current status of your local weather condition, the microsd card slot is on the side of the phone instead of inside the back cover, which is more convenient this time.

This phone is really nice, but for the amount you pay, you don’t get many applications.. Also, I have had it a week and am sending it back because it just hangs up in the middle of a call and it turns off for no reason.. I’m really bummed because I really like it, but those two things drive me insane!! Especially when it hangs up in the middle of a business call…

The phone is awesome! No problems yet. However, one suggestion; DO NOT purchase from Amazon.com. My major problem with Amazon signing me up with the data plan is that it is NOT compatible with the “smartphone”; Amazon doesn’t even offer a compatible plan. There is only one compatible plan available from T-Mobile, if you want the unlimited texting and it costs $34.99/mo. The $19.95 data plan was the perfect choice for me with the 100/MB data and unlimited messaging. Now disappointed to find out there is a very significant difference in cost. I feel like it was a bait and switch situation. I have been disputing this discrepency with Amazon and T-Mobile since April 24, 2009, to no avail. It seems that niether place wants to take responsibilty for the incorrect information that the customer is getting on Amazon web site. I feel like Amazon should somehow make it right the advertisied plan cost for $19.95/mo. After several phone calls w/T-Mobile and Amazon plus Amazon’s famous email responses; as of today, it is thier conclusion that I am either stuck to pay the additional amount to T-Mobile each month, which adds up to some $360 extra over the 2 year contract, or return the phone to Amazon and cancel the service. I hate the thought of cancelling, as I have already spent hours re-entering my contacts etc…, I have already cancelled my service with my old provider AND T-Mobile wants to charge me a $200 cancellation fee! In a nutshell; Amazon’s customer service certainly leaves something to be desired, Amazon has me over a barrel and they know it. I feel jilted. And after doing business with Amazon for many years, and thousands and thousands of dollars spent, I am stopping. My family is canelling their accounts too. And I will be sure to say it in all my reviews everywhere and tell as many people as I can. Amazon does not stand behind or honor the information we are provided and trust in as consumers.
I was just informed that as of today, Amazon has now posted the correct data choices for this phone. I am glad that no one else purchasing this phone from Amazon will be misled as I, as well as several other customers were. Looks like some of my persistence has paid off. Too bad Amazon has no solution for the false information that we were offered, trusted and purchased last month. Shame on you Amazon!
I was on defense when I got the phone because I’m a crackberry addict. I didn’t have a camera, so I figured why not give it a try. I purchased it with all necessary data plans. The GPS was GREAT! The camera was GREAT! The internet was ok. But all of sudden as I went to charge it when it ran out of batteries, it won’t recharge or turn on. Thus I am returning and getting another blackberry instead! What a shame, I thought it was a keeper.

I ordered the memoir phone yesterday.. I really hope I like it.. Im a blackberry person too.. but I love taking picts and I like the idea of the 8 megapixel camera. I am impatiently waiting for it.. I hope Its a good phone!!! Just hoping here lol
Iam a 56 year old grand ma and I found this phone easy to use, takes really great pictures even in panarama mode, This is a phone first so I did not think it would work as fast as a computer but it does a good job for a phone no waiting and pages move some what fast! I printed a sunset picture I took at 12×14 and it looks great, so in all I think this phone is great, I paid 199.00 and I think it worth evey pennie and then some!!
I ran over my behold with the car. They are sending me the memoir to replace it. I hope it is not as senitive to the touch as the behold. They said it is cmparable to the behold.
