Samsung M220 and M320 Phones Hit the US

Samsung has added two more entry-level cell phones to the US market via Sprint, the M220 and M320. Both are clamshells which are aimed at the budget-minded populace, which means there’s not much you can expect in way of specs, although the M320 (pictured above) has a few features more than the M220. Available in deep red, the M320 has a 128×160-pixel CSTN internal display along with a 96×96-pixel external screen on the handset’s front facade, Bluetooth, a VGA camera with no video recording, speaker-independent voice dialing, PictBridge, web browser, and other Sprint-specific applications like NFL Mobile Live and Sprint PCS Picture Mail. The M220 on the other hand is available in medium blue and has the same feature set as its companion including a speakerphone, games, T9 input, stopwatch, alarm clock, and world clock but it lacks a camera, PictBridge, and Sprint PCS Picture Mail.
The M320 is available now on Sprint with a two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate for $19.99 while the low-specced M220 is mysteriously priced a bit higher at $29.99 with the same two-year agreement.

[...] Samsung has kept ease of use in mind rather than a fancy design or a huge touchscreen while designing the SCH-u310 Knack, which is aimed at older and visually impaired Verizon customers. The Knack is molded into a clamshell form factor and has many features that brings technology much closer to the elderly than before. The phone has a generous 2.2-inch display with a pared down interface that leaves complex navigation of menus and submenus out of the scene and a keypad with big buttons that are painted with easily distinguishable numerals. A dedicated 911 key sits alongside an ICE (In Case of Emergency) button providing access for up to three contacts to ensure help at the right time. The headset and power port covers are painted red and blue in contrast with the handset’s black hue to be differentiated effortlessly and there’s also a speaker-independent voice dialing application to enable calling without much fiddling with numbers. If you think you know somebody who could put the Samsung u310 to good use, head over to Verizon to get it at just $39.99 with a new two-year agreement.
