Samsung decided to show off its new 8-megapixel i8510 at an event recently in New York City. So, if you have any doubts about its existence, it’s time to start believing that the device exists and that it will put up a decent fight against the Sony Ericsson C905, armed with much more than the 8mpx lens. MobileBurn was able to snag a few minutes with the upcoming S60-powered devices and ran it through some motions, finally going away satisfied. The 8-megapixel camera is helped along with a bevy of camera-oriented features like image stabilization, smile/face/blink detection, and panorama mode. Camcorders might be a thing of the past if companies start to produce cell phones like these as the i8510 (or the Innov8 if you like) can shoot videos at a whopping 120 fps in QVGA or 30 fps in VGA. Other than that, the device runs on Symbian S60 9.3 3rd Edition with FP2 and has a generous 2.8-inch 16-million color QVGA display. The Innov8 is also capable of playing DivX videos and is DLNA certified, that means it can connect to any other household device that is DLNA certified. All the usual connectivity goodies like WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and GPS are also hidden underneath its slider form factor. Sounds like something you would like right? Well, you will have to wait until we unearth more important details like its price and a release date!
